Well... it's been a long time since the admin posted... he's been in admin hell... but thats a different story.

I've been asked by the powers that be at WEP to "run a poll" to see if theres any interest in the release of a classic Voltron sword... steel or aluminum, maybe 4-5 feet long (or should we go letter opener sized?) with all sorts of cool options even including Electroluminescence (EL) that would light up blue from the inside

you know... a classic sword like those from Lord of the rings or Conan or Kill Bill...things like that... you've all seen them at the anime conventions

how cheap or expensive should WEP go... and is there enough interest?

Ok...this is very interesting because I was just looking for the new editions of the Force FX Lightsabers from Master Replicas.

Now, if WEP is serious about this, I would like to suggest that they contact Master Replicas *http://www.masterreplicas.com* as their Force FX Lightsabers are truly spectacular in their details. The lightsabers run at $120 a piece. They are not made of cheap plastic but rather aluminum and other metals. The blades use LED lights that light up in sequence to show true "power up" and "power down" effects. They also used sounds direct from the movies and not sound reproductions.

I would love to own a replica of the Blazing Sword. Although, I would not want a little letter-opener sized one or a 3 foot long sword. I would rather have a 5 ft (+/-) sword made of high quality materials with sounds and possibly lights to create the formation effect. I would recommend using the sound of the sword forming accompanied by the Voltron's roar.

I agree with KBL. I'd pay for a real good quality one.

The price I'd be willing to pay for it would depend on the quality of the piece. For example if they made a really top quality one, I'd pay what they asked, whether that was $250 or more. But if it looked like it wasn't quite what it should be, I'd shop around after it came out or before it came out and do whatever I could to get it for less than the asking price.

If it came out, what company would produce the BS?

Although depending on the company that produced BS just might stand for both. Or it might better be referred to as the PoS.

ROFLMAO, how very true, BL. I'd pay ATLEAST $90 for one, but no more than say $250-$300.

I'd buy a sword, but only if it's $100 or less.

I agree with Corlock; I'd have to see the quality, etc. of the sword. I don't think I'd pay more than $100 for it, though. All the features that KBL mentioned seem cool to put on it! Especially the Lion's roar!

I have to agree with KBL on this, as I have two sabers from Master Replicas, and they are the best replicas I've seen and owned.

Hmm...i guess I should put my Blazing Sword project on hold then ( toying around with Polyester Fiberglass Resin as I have an excess supply left over from another project - constructing another sword for a costume ).

I would love to get my hands on a Blazing Sword and I would be willing to pay for it too. However, if it is small or poor quality, I would not buy it.
Hopefully, this idea will come to fruition. Smiler
