Has anyone heard any more about Voltron coming up with some video games? That would be so cool!

Just in Super Robot Taisen W for the Nintendo DS, but as GOLION . Japan release only (which for that series, is always only a japanese release)

Actually, W has a better shot of getting over here than most SRW games. If you notice, EVERY show in SRW W has been licenced in America. In addition, the SRW OG sales were pretty strong in the US. Also, as much as Voltron is loved in Americs, Go lion did not do well in Japan at all. It was another combining robot on top of the countless other robot shows in Japan. Adding it to SRW for a pure Japanese release would be a little odd.

I'd still like to know of the progress or even end result of the video game that was supposed to be for the gameboy. The old admin had pics, etc.
General question now is, if Nintendo doesn't want it...why not put the game up for download for us fans to play? If it's able to be done like that. If it's too big of a file to download, why not put it for PC use and let fans buy the game from the WEP store? Heck I would. |

That is exactly what I was getting at! The pictures of that Gameboy version looked really cool. I would go out and buy a Gameboy if they came out with that Voltron video game. Whatever did happen to that?

Yeah, the old admin gave me some pics for some of the files, and it looked way cool. Maybe Nintendo doesn't see enough of a profit to do the game under their name, but it doesn't mean the game has to be given up on.
Switch tracks, and go to PC use instead of a game console/hand held version. How about it? |

Heck yeah! GameBoy, PC, Playstation, whatever! If they would actuallly come out with the video game, I wouldn't be too picky about what you have to play it on.

So since the movie is canned for now. Would WEP consider (or re-consider) a video game? How about a Voltron vs. Robeast "Street Fighter-esque" game? Play as Voltron and/or the robeasts Play as the Voltron Force members and/or villains Easter Eggs and level advancements unlock Vehicle Voltron characters and robeasts etc. Thoughts? I wouldn't mind a KOTOR style RPG for Voltron.

As much as I would love to see a Voltron RPG, and trust me I would more than anything. I would worry about the rating of it. Do you appeal to the younger player and make it a E rated game? (Which I admit I avoid like the plague.) Or do you go for the core fans and make it a T?

As anal as these ratings people are (sarcasm: we have to protect the children) I don't think any Voltron game could drop below a "T" rating.

Those pics were from a demo developed in house for the Game Boy using a VEIL receiver. Was kind of fun to play though in a simplistic way...
It's kind of a catch 22 with video games as lots of companies like SEGA have approached us but only if a movie or animated series is coming out... I did convince them to do a mobile phone game so Sony should be working on that now. Email Sony Mobile and tell them you want it NOW! Dont worry I think in the next year or so you will be gnawing on a Robeast leg with a robot lion with on your Xbox 360... cross your fingers.. Voltron on DVD - Sept. 2006 |
