It seems that there are a lot of ideas for bringing our favorite series back. But I am hving serious doubts about everything. The DDP comic was good, but didn't last. And I hope to GOD that the (allegedly new) TV series is going to be a hit

- NOTE TO WEP... Please don't name it "VOLTRON: INTERACTIVE!" It is a cartoon, not a corporate powerpoint demo. And please make the series ased on the story and not the technology that is involved. You can add your technology to the series and the toys, but please don't make it a part of the plot too.

All I have seen is anything Voltron related seems to fail... miserably. Maybe putting it to rest maybe good. BUT... I would hate to see it end with a failed comic book line. I would rather see it end on a good note.

It appears that any Voltron series (excluding season 1) has been of poor quality. Maybe Voltron should be produced by the originators of Golion.

I voted no. Voltron still has some life left in him. If the new cartoon series fails, then maybe that'll be the time to put Voltron to rest.

I voted no as I would hate to see that happen but I do agree that it is not unreasonable to be pessimistic.
We'll see what happens.

No not yet. Not unless the new series fails, and the MP Voltron sells horribly.

At $150, the MP Voltron may not do very well, since most people won't be able to afford it.

Even the 20th anniversary Optimus was only about $60..and I still see several of them in the stores at times. $150 may be a bit much at first.

I would hate to see Voltron die. Perhaps its getting to be the time that WEP should give the Voltron over to someone else...permanently. I haven't seen much as of late to convince me that WEP really cares about Voltron. If the new series fails and so does the MP Voltron, I don't see how WEP would be able to recuperate their losses on Voltron. Seriously, has WEP done anything new? They stick with Voltron but none of the other series that WEP owns has tried to make a comeback. I really think WEP should hand the reins over to someone else and start with something new.

I agree and disagree ewith you there BL

The animation in season 2 suffered, but the writing was much better.

Allura stopped doing stupid things like stealing the Lions or sniffing strange flowers.

there was more back story than just sending in a robeast to smash the planet.

Who was that masked man, the desguized one as a slave,
The eps were Lotor pretended to be changing his ways
leading them to a false booby trapped castle
Diplomatically screwing then taking oeer a planets government

I thought Season 2 was pretty good, except for a few things. The animation was terrible, the lame Alfor cop out endings, and the lack of consistency with earlier eps (like the deal of Romelle saying she remembered how kind Alfor was to her - WTF?) were all pretty bad. The S2 eps to me are more memorable though because there was more variety to the storylines, at least up until the last 5 minutes which are fairly predictable in almost any Voltron ep regardless of which season.

Everyone is going to hate me for this, but....

Yes. There isn't any chance of Voltron getting popular again here in the states; the comic has already proved it. Though the show aired again on Toonami, how long was it before it got moved to 3:00 AM? NOBODY is up at that time of night. Then it was cancelled. Then V3D came out, and IT didn't do very well, and neither did the Voltron comic.

Although the cartoon is coming out soon, I doubt it will make the least bit of difference.

Actually, V3D did do well. It received high ratings and won an emmy. It was slated for a third season but the company doing the CGI went bankrupt.

The comic also started off selling very well. But bad promotion played a large role in its demise.

Yup.

Even though V3D sucked, it did deserve the Emmy.
