OK, I don't know if this question has been asked somewhere else on this forum, or if this is the right section to post this question, but I'm gonna ask it here anyway.

If there were a live action Voltron made (movie or otherwise) who would you pick to play the main roles?

Although I don't have picks for all the roles, I can tell you 3:

Keith: Tom Welling
Lotor: Michael Rosenbaum
Allura: Sarah Michelle Gellar

Those are all the picks I have, and who knows, they might change after seeing other people's choices.

This has been done lots of times in the past. But meh, its fun to go over it again though. :P

I don't agree with two your choices though ... no way would Welling be cast as Keith though, he's too associated with Smallville.

Rosenbaum as Lotor is an interesting choice.

Sarah Michelle Gellar wouldn't be any good as Allura IMO. She's too associated with Buffy and she doesn't have that Allura-esque aura.

As for my casting picks, there are only 2 actors that I know of that I think would be perfect for a Voltron movie ...

Frank Langella as Zarkon. Langella is a terrific actor and has no problem with having to put heavy make-up. His performance as Skeletor in the Masters Of The Universe movie sold me on the idea of him playing Zarkon.

Alexandra Davies as Princess Allura. Alexandra is an Australian actress, but she has quite a resemblance to Allura. She's played tough-ass roles in the past, so she can definitely bring out the sensitive and feisty sides of Allura. She's got a nice body too. :P

Well, by your line of logic, SGB, wouldn't it be a bad idea to put Rosenbaum in as Lotor since he's on "Smallville" as Lex, if I remember correctly? Smiler And since we've got more people left and right suggesting Tom Welling off the top of their heads for Keith, maybe he wouldn't be so bad a pick after all. I've gone with the same picks as you for Keith and Lotor, btw, Midnight. However, I've also thought that Tom Hardy (Shinzon from "Star Trek: Nemesis") would be a kick-ass Lotor-- rent "Nemesis", watch just a couple scenes with him in it and you'll understand what I mean. I think he's got that evil/sexy/dark thing down really well.

As for my other picks, I do think Alexandra Davies, admittedly, would make a great Allura, after having given one of her fan's websites a look-- anyone else who's still unsure on this one should probably go check out some pics of her via Google or elsewhere. I'd still like to nominate Leven Rambin, but while I think she's definitely princess material, I'm not entirely sure I could see her piloting Blue...

As for everyone else... I've been trying to think of a Native American or Latino actor for Hunk?? Just seems to me like someone of either of those ethnic backgrounds could work, especially Inuit... Not sure why I think that, I just do. How old exactly *would* we want Pidge?? I've got a guy in mind who plays a teen character on "All My Children" (Bobby Steggert, plays Sam Grey), but he's not exactly the little pipsqueak type. Something just tells me he could pull off the role of a "young genius".

Rosenbaum as Lotor probably wouldn't be a bad idea. After all, he did do the voice of The Flash, which I thought his performance was pretty good.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ewan McGregor play someone like Lance. Or maybe Coran, since he was able to play the aging Obi-Wan convincingly (even if most people didn't like the prequels, McGregor's performance was well done).

The woman who played Broomhilda in Robin Hood Men in Tights could play Nanny dead on.

What about the Jessica Alba for Allura? I haven't seen her performance in F4 yet, but she did get to play a comic heroine (sp?).

Ewan McGregor's a bit old to play Lance though, I'd think. Not that he's old, but the Voltron force are supposed to be teenagers. I don't think he can pull that off.

Now if he played Coran, that'd be the first time I'd think of the character as hot.

Maybe Ewan could play Lotor? I'd love to see Ewan play a villain.

The only problem with the Voltron Force being teenagers is that I have yet to see any really good teenage actors that I like (or any actors young enough to play teenagers). Other than actors on these little teen-soaps, such as the old Dawson's Creek, 7th Heaven when it started out, and other such shows on WB, most of the actors and actresses that I like and could play the Voltron Force are too old to play the young characters.

There are some pretty interesting choices on here. I looked up Leven Rambin and Alexandra Davies, and the both would have the right "look". Having never seen either one act, I don't know if they'd fit the part or not.

Ewan McGregor would make a good Coran, and Frank Langella would make a good Zarkon.

I can't think of any Native American or Latino actors to play Hunk, but what about a half African-American half Samoan? The Rock could certainly bulk up enough to be Hunk and might actually play the role well.

Any ideas for Sven? I couldn't come up with any. It wouldn't necessarily have to be a Russian actor, but it'd be cool if it were.

Casting unknown would be best as far as I'm concerned--one's that can act well that is. :P

In case I haven't welcomed you, Midnight900 WELCOME!

OtakuShan, you're right. My memory of Voltron isn't as good as it used to be.

Zariel, thanks for the welcome. It's good to be here.

Thanks for the compliments on my sig pic, Cheezey Smiler

If anyone wants to see Leven Rambin act, she's a regular on "All My Children" as a character named Lily. It's an interesting role. Lily's about 16 years old and has autistic spectral disorder. In other words, she's a bit like Rainman, but is better with being social. It's a really complex role, and I'm a little surprised that Leven Rambin hasn't gotten any Emmy nominations yet for it. But then again, she was up against Eden Reigel this year, who was on the same show as her until earlier this year-- and after all, her character was Erica Kane's daughter, the lesbian who was raped but still had the baby but the baby was stolen and given to another couple but then was given back to her after a huge legal battle and meanwhile her one lover left to go back to Poland and the other is still claiming she likes guys despite her constantly kissing her and so now she's moved to Pine Valley and... Eh, yeah. Anyway, since the writers treated Eden like crap, she's left the show, and now I think Leven's got a good chance at getting an Emmy. :P

Oh-- and the guy she's going out with on the show, that's Sam Grey, played by Bobby Steggert, the one who I said earlier might make a good Pidge... I still don't know why I was thinking that, but I guess that if we were to have him grow up it might work. Really random guess.

Really good question about Sven... I guess we'd need to find someone who could at least *approximate* the right kind of accent. That could happen easily enough.

I used to watch AMC years ago (I think I gave up around 1998-ish) and I'm curious, which daughter of Erica's is a lesbian? Bianca, Kendall, or is there a new one that came about since? (Hey with how they age on soaps sometimes, that is possible, lol.)

It's Bianca, Cheezy - she's been through a LOT in the past year! But then again, what soap actor doesn't?! :P

I agree with the picks of Frank Lagella, Michael Rosenbaum, Broomhilda from Men in Tights, and Ewan McGregor as Coran... Red Faceops: ...that would be the first time I would pay attention to him! And Rock as Hunk sounds good to me - he could portray Hunk well.
