The Voltron Omnibus arrived and it is pretty good so far, I've read the first and second in a half of the issues within. They did not have to retell the origin of how Voltron is created in A Legend Forged. The story is told at the beginning of the Omnibus, they are better off just doing something that would finish off the arc, like a finale. Maybe the death of Zarkon, I like the artwork in this. EJ Su is very good, I like the drawings of the lions. The characters are drawn really good as well. Looking forward to reading the rest of the Omnibus.

Hearing that the plot is a "re-tell" doesn't sit well. Is this all that DDP is capable of? Why not go into some of the other aspects, like the 7 or 8 kingdoms of the Drule Empire and how they interact (A Drule Civil War perhaps). Or a possible "impending doom" series in which Arus or Earth is threatened with total extinction and/or etc. It sounds like there is no action at all in this series. If so, it is a real failure on the part of DDP because they created such a snoozer.

As was said before, cynical Voltron fans may think that DDP is only releasing this Voltron series to try to keep us happy. Maybe they are trying to give us the notion that we should be thankful that Voltron has been given a second release if at all... they could work on more profitable properties. A cynical Voltron fan would consider something like that a blatant slap in the face.

If DDP should release another Voltron series, I hope it won't end up a broken record of the previous two.

To give them the benefit of the doubt though, I liked "Revelations" and "Paradise Lost." It seemed like those were well taken care of in their creation. A good amount of time was put into it. I wish that kind of quality would be reproduced in the next series, if there will ever be one.
