Ok, I'm sure someone has asked this one before. Would WEP ever authorize officially licensed and professionally written novels based on Voltron, or novelizations of say, the first 5 episodes of the original cartoon?

Obviously, the comics were a big hit (before the art work and story started being rushed and then put on the back burner for the zillion G.I.Joe comics that were being produced) so why not consider the possibility of paperbacks that take place within the official canon of the show?

Just a thought.

Yeah, I think it as. Most likely by me. I have always wanted to write Voltron novels and see them in print like they do with Star Trek novels. That would be so totally awesome, or even collections of short stories written by fans.
I'm sure most everyone here has written a Voltron story or two.
That would be a wonderful idea.

I suggested this awhile back, flew like a lead brick

I have no problems with your Mary-Sue if cannon supports it.

The cannon supports about 180 pounds if fired correctly.

Yeah, I remember that chat. I think that was around the same time Doomites embraced the "goofball" epithet Wink

I suggested the idea to Megan at WEP, who I was in contact with pretty steadily. She told me the likelihood of this actually happening is zero because of the legals involving Voltron/Go Lion. I forget the entire jist of it, but basically, the idea wasn't going to fly, though I was encouraged to copy the story idea . . . for all the good it would do. The characters belonged to WEP, so I had to make mention of it.

But as for copyrighting legally, I only do that with the '©' symbol on my webpages. Only the story ideas. I specifically state that Voltron and all of its characters are NOT my property, bu they are owned and a copyright of World Event Productions. Only the original characters and the story idea is of my creation, and I take credit for that.

Other than that . . . no go on the novels. However, I think I'll give it another pitch. One never knows.

Maybe it's just me and I don't know much about legalese but I don't understand that. I'd go ahead and pitch it again, I'll be right along there in spirit. I think it would be good advertising for Voltron.

I would love a Voltron novelization. I could see it with a bit of a sci-fi feel to it.

However, if one were to be published I hope that it wouldn't be

This one. cry

His embrace held her captive all through the night? Wow, that's... wow. And I thought Voltron was corny, but then I'm about 30 year too young and the wrong gender for books like that to appeal to me.

Very true, Jon. That's a classic 'chick magnet' sappy romance line. Just the way I like them too! Wink

Why does that really old and corny "...and boy, are my arms tired" line come to mind?
