Please post a summary of the background of the characters in the comics.


Michael

Lance - was in jail
Sven - has mental problems
Pidge - got beat up alot
Hunk - was a shrimp
Keith - well had as much personailty as ever

Allura - developed a fondness for tight 80's style clothes
Coran - still an old fogey
nanny - no where t be seen

Zarkon - was a soldier who schemed his way to becoming King
Hagar - wasnt explained much but Zarkin has her race in his background
Merla - Pretty stupid actually, I mean telling Haggar she plans to Kill Zarkon? Oh yea and she wears rapidly disolving clothes
Lotor - A luch playboy who need to learn to duck
Cossack - Spared
Yurak - got a dye job (orange hair) and changed Kingdoms from the show

Sidenote: bandor and Romelle become woodelves

Coldwin, you forgot to mention that Yurak's appearance was changed to that of a deranged werewolf on crack with balding orange hair.

Also, Haggar looked like a lizard under hood. It was pretty freaky.

Oh and last but not least, Bandor bore a startling resemblance to an elf from Lord of the Rings, and Romelle looks nothing like Allura.

That Yurak crack has me laughing!! As for Haggar, does that mean she once had a role in the V minseries :wink: Marc Singer wouldn't have a chance, hee hee.

For Merla, that was pretty dumb; reminds me of when our troops were discussing military strategies for the following day on CNN :roll:

At least Cossack managed to avoid any blemishes by being sans present. Wonder if they were ever planning to bring him in.

And as for Romelle and Bandor, I agree about the elf look. I was expecting the Wolfriders to make a cameo. But Romy had nice Pantene Pro-V hair, though.

You are also forgetting that in the comic book, Allura was a raging canon Mary Sue. Yes, she had some Mary Sue traits in the show, but she had her flaws as well. In the comic, however, they got rid of those flaws and gave her GODDESS POWARZZ!!!11!1 on top of that. Some people may disagree with me, but I personaly did not like what DD did with her.

whats not to like? they gave her Ultimate psyic powers, telepathy and it seemed telekentics, along with the power to talk directly to voltron.

she was able to beat up the ones who beat up lotor. she was able to take charge of a military unit cause shes obviosly a better leader than keith

Hmmm...you've got a point there. I liked how they strengthened Allura's personal character in terms of inner strength. I never really thought about it, but with all that stuff they gave her, I guess she was a Mary Sue. I didn't mind the psychic powers, but I was taken aback by the Goddess mode. It seemed a little too Jumping the shark.

If Nanny knew she was wearing THAT dress...
