Hello. I am a new member and am trying to get situated and such. I noticed there is something called Karma points. What are they? Are they something like Merit points or conversely, Demerit points?

I'm rather curious myself and have been meaning to ask the same question.

This is a rating of your performance and reputation in the community. It normally is based on participation in the community but may be edited by the administrator.

About the points I believe they are related to the amount of post you make on the board.

I agree with Sven's Girl. Karma, I believe, is a form of 'board community good points', for activity and for behavior. Since it says that Karma points are best at 'zero', I can only imagine that this is relative to 'playing nice' on the boards.

We mods love to have fun... and we hate having to ball people out for 'bad behavior'. But if Admin has to chime in, I think that's where he starts adding up 'Bad Karma Points'.

So... smile....(so that people don't know what you're thinking!!) ....and everyone just have a good time and post away!! Woohoo!!!

Personally, I'm TERRBILY excited to know what additional news admin has in store for us!!!

Thanks for the information regarding Karma. It was a little confusing at first but I should get useed to it.

Glad to hear there are nice people here although that does tend to change once the board is well-up and fully functioning (past experience with another one).

I'm sure that will all be able to get along.

To me, the "Karma Points" seem to be post count.

As for Karma Level and Title. On other boards I go to, the admin could enable an option that lets all members rate other members. That could be what this is, but it doesn't seem to be enabled. The title would be a byproduct of that.

Actually, the Karma Title could be a representation of either or both the Karma Points and Karma Level. To me, it looks like the whole naturel member title that is usually based on how many posts you make. It may also be a rank based on the points other members give you [if enabled].

Of course it doesn't seem to be enabled, so it doesn't really matter at the time.

I wonder why there isn't an FAQ (or is that still in the works?) regarding the standard features of the site.

I wonder what it all means in the end or what the points will amount to, if anything?

Anyway, I'm just having a good time posting and talking to the good people who inhabit and oversee this forum.

Those are some really good questions and I wonder about those myself. I just go with the flow and have fun.

Thanks. I actually didn't know what an avatar was when i first logged on. But a little research and ingunuity helped me to procure a good one.

There are actually some nice features that this Forum company has...like the ability to keep track of all posts for every member. I've known ones where you just post and it gets lost. Then you have to scroll through to remember (this is when a significant amount of time has passed) what you had posted in the first place.

And it wouldn't hurt if this site had a little more color to it...to go with the array of colors that make up the five lions...well something to that effect.

I agree this site needs a little more color to liven things up. Especially since I like to spice things up a lot.
