Don't worry, at episode 9 you'll take back your thoughts about Hagar.
HOwever, in the defense of Lotor, he is not supposed to be like he was in the original series. He was nearly killed and had to be given cybernective parts, how do you expect him to look? |

Of course you're talking 1997 technology. A lot of animated movies and series are done in CGI. If Voltron 3D were done today, the techology would be much better.
As for plot - well there was potential in some ideas, glimmers I guess you could say but overall, it was sucky. |

I just don't care much for the whole "cyborg Lotor" angle. That Amalgamus robot gets more annoying and stupid with every passing episode. He's so stupid that he allows Zarkon to have access to his memory core. The whole "Zarkon is reformed" plot is not in the least convicing. It's obvious early on that he's still evil. They should've tried harder to make us wonder if he really has reformed(ie, saved the day or something). Episode five had two major problems. The Voltron Force was reestablished two episodes ago, and now Amalgamus wants to disband it. Seems too soon for that kind of plot. Plus, things got to the point where Keith points a gun at Lance. That was.... no, just no. Likewise, that twist about Hagar being in love with Alfor... lets not go there... Also, it seems like no one is around on planet Arus other than Coran and the Voltron Force. We actually see more fishes than people at that place. |

Amalgamus is much more likeable in season two.
I never bought the "Zarkon is reformed" plot either. |

I can hardly believe there was a season 2 of V3D
I didn't either. It just was to OOC Mags http://twitter.com/Vehicle_Voltron Say hi to Minmei, Cabel, Rem, Sarna, Viedt, Zor and Tesla. They would love your visit! Picture by Zejan the Wonder Monkey (an Illustration for my Fanfic - Checkmate) |

Now I've seen up to Stealth Voltron, whom is quite ugly.
I find it real stupid that this show--only 26 episodes long-- has *two* whole clips shows in it. Why would a show so short need so many clip shows? I must admit, I was surprised when the lions got blown up in episode 15. I really didn't think that would actually happen. But the way the lions came back was so contrived that I wanted to throw a rock at the screen. Their spirts magically re-forms their bodies. Please, lets not go there... Also, that ancient Queen said that Allura trained in the lions when she was young, and there's a flashback to show this. *Thumps head against wall* Continunity does not work that way! I'm guessing by this point, we're suppose to assume that Vehicle Voltron and everything related to it never happened. Lion Voltron is the one and only Voltron that ever existed, apparently. With the whole Voltron trial thing and Zarkon's conquest of GG, one would think it'd be important for VV to show up, yet there's not even a token mention of them or the Drules. |

Er... what's up with the continunity of the series as of late? For the first 15 episodes, the order of events is pretty clear. But then we get a clip show , which reference an event that doesn't happen for a few episodes yet. Then there's Zarkon's takeover of GG, then for the next few episodes, its all about Stealth Voltron, and nobody seems to be concerned in the slightest about GG. Now in episode 22, we see Amalgamus alive and well. Even though the last time we saw him, Zarkon turned him into a video game(
Right now, I'm looking at these episodes using the episode numbering and air date orders floating around. But this seems so messed up for the last ten episodes or so. Something as big as Zarkon taking over GG should be followed up right away, not forgotten about! EDIT: Well, I finally finished the series. The ordering of episodes really is one of the most off-kilter things about season two. I don't see why they went with the Zarkon/GG plot, jumped ahead to Stealth Voltron, then went [i]back[/] to the Zarkon/GG storyline. Also, the show pretty much just stops instead of actually ending. "Consider the Alternatives" was actually a pretty good episode, and one of the few I can see myself rewatching a few times. Otherwise, I didn't care much for this version overall. There's a few good ideas in here. The storyline about Zarkon's takeover of GG and the VF subsequence action was kinda interesting. But it would've been much better if it didn't rely so much on an Complete Idiot Plot to get going. Also, Lance was kinda annoying and OOC here. In the original series, he was the loveable smartass. Here, he's all "Grr grr, Lance smash!" and dominate half the episodes. |
