Ten years ago when this series premiered, I loved it. I thought Lotor was pretty bad ass, and the CGI was great despite some flaws in the human movement. So today I started to watch it for the first time in 7 years, and holy crap, this show is pretty terrible. The CGI is worst than I remember, the script is awful with too many horrific one liners, and the plots are pretty pitiful. What the hell happened over the last 10 years? I don't even think I'd bother buying this show on DVD if it ever did come out.

it's truly amazing what entertained us when we were younger. I remember at the time, CGI was like a baby in the industry and to have a Voltron show about it was pretty mindblowing, but it was always so dark and hard to see, and I hated how they changed the appearance of all the guys.

It's kinda like how Full House was so entertaining to watch when I was a kid and after watching a rerun recently and was amazed at the velveeta cheesyness it oozed.

Lionesse had never seen "Consider the Alternatives" so I showed it to her this weekend. I knew the show was bad, but forgot just how bad. Although, "Consider" was actually a pretty good episode.

I do remember being extremely excited when V3D was on and made sure to watch every episode that I could. I was just happy to have Voltron back. I did, however, find an old email I sent to WEP once practically begging for them to change certain aspects of the show.

Well I must say, the episode with Dracotron was still really good. Hell, the battle footage in that episode was probably the best the series had, and it is a shame they had to start going through convoluted plot holes and what not (like Hagar suddenly being in love with Alfor, and the Robeast that is blown up in ep 11 is back in ep 12).

"Consider The Alternatives" is the only decent episode in the whole series.

Yeah, that was an awful plot twist.

It's not the same Robeast, it's a different one with the same design.

One big plot hole in V3D that really bothered me is where Queen Ariella states that Allura had been in training to fly Blue Lion since she was a child, yet it's clear in the original series she never flew Blue Lion until she grew up.

The V3D writers watched the original series prior to writing V3D, so I have to wonder how they missed that. Especially when one of the V3D writers, Marc Handler, actually worked on the original series.

How about the fact that Allura knew that Lance's village had been destroyed by Zarkon when no such thing had ever been hinted at before?

Correct.

If I remember correctly, it was mentioned in Episode 49 "Coran's Son Runs Amuck".

Well I finished the series, and yeah, it was pretty bad now. Season 2 was more boring than anything. I think the only episodes that truly stand out are Voltron vs Dracotron and Consider the Alternatives. Other than that, I don't care if I ever watch this series again. And what the hell was up with the clip shows? The Trial episode was fine, but then they did another pointless clip show not even 13 episodes later (not that that is good, as 2 clip shows in 26 episodes in rediculous). Why didn't they just give us a conclusion instead?

I think I remember watching maybe two eps. Didn't feel like waking up before 10am on Sunday morning for it (you have to be damn special for me to wake up early on Sundays, babe), and I just didn't feel like programming the VCR for it, either.

My mommy always told me that I was special Razzer

Anyway, I use to wake up on Sundays to watch it because there were also other cartoons that I wanted to see that aired around it.

I'm finally getting around to watching Voltron 3D, since it seems that much of it is up on youtube(not sure if all of it is there, though). I'm up to the first four episodes. It's nice to have more Voltron episodes, and it's still great to see the big guy in action.

But... I see why everyone says this series has so many problems. Galaxy Garrison shouldn't have so much apparent control over the Voltron Lions. True, Keith and the rest are soilders of GG, but Allura is not, and they shouldn't be able to *order* her around. Also, where are the stuffy admiral guys? Here, it seems like GG consists of a robot and......King Zarkon. I can't buy that GG, however bureaucratical it is, would appoint Zarkon as their Ambassador of Peace(or whatever).

Also don't care for the CG look. Voltron's face looks kinda pudgly, and the regualr lions' heads looks board and elongated. Also, everyone seems to wear metal suits all the time. Pidge and Hunk were first shown retired from the Voltron force, but had those suits on. Same for Allura, even though she hasn't piloted her Blue Lion for a few years. Haggar's the only villain so far that sounds and feels like the original series version(where's her cat?). This new cyborg-Lotor doesn't look or feel like the original version.

Also, so far, it seems like Lance is the main character. he was the star of episode 2, and the one that got everyone else moving in episode 4.

Of course, I'm only up to episode 4, and there's still a long way to go. But from what I hear, it doesn't get much better.
