I did like the various robeast designs. They did get pretty cool at times.

Dracotron was stupid though.

I liked the V3D uniforms of the Voltron Force. Why?

* The V3D uniforms were armored. In the original series, every time our heroes left the lions, they seemed helpless, story notwithstanding.

* The Voltron Force members didn't look like motorcycle cops in their V3D uniforms. Watching the show now, I half-expect Sven to have been replaced by Ponch! The helmets were especially interesting, although I wish the helmets were more open at the jaw, so that we could see the team members' mouths. Maybe the helmets could have been styled more like Voltron's robot head.

* The V3D uniform colors actually made sense. In the original show, Keith wore red why? Because he usually wore a red jump suit off-duty? Lance wore blue because he often wore a blue shirt under his brown jacket? Allura wore pink because she always wore pink? The V3D uniforms may have gone a bit too far in their coloring, but at least the colors they used made sense.

The only element about the V3D uniforms that I found inferior to the uniforms of the original show were the lion keys. I wish the V3D lion keys had been more faithful to the original ones.

As stated many times before, Keith wore red in the original series because in Japanese television and/or movie culture it is tradition for the leader to wear red, the girl to wear pink, etc.

Perhaps I could have overlooked the change in uniform colors had their new suits not look like f*cked up Stormtrooper armor. The suits could have been more militaristic AND more slimmed down, they just looked too bulky and restrictive.

Lion shaped helmets? What is this, Power Rangers?

I didn't mind the concept that the lions were partially sentient. Voltron was sentient before being broken up (it is assumed) and it's logical that each lion retained part of that sentience.

I'm well aware of that tradition. I was speaking of the show's "in-universe" logic, which appeared to be nonexistent, aside from the coincidental match between the uniform colors and elements of the characters' off-duty clothing.

Why would helmets styled after lions be any more ridiculous than spaceships styled after lions -- or a gigantic robot with a similarly styled "helmet," not to mention lion heads for hands and feet?

well, for my vote, the best thing about about V3d is that it's over, and as far as i know, it's not out on dvd.
