According to the DVD releases, Neil Ross provided the voice of both Keith and Pidge in the original series. Why was another actor hired to portray Pidge in V3D? Would it have been prohibitively expensive in the late '90s to have Ross supply the voice of two regular characters? Had Ross' voice changed (deepening with age, as most people's voice do over time) to the point where he couldn't recreate Pidge's voice anymore? Did the V3D producers just want to give Pidge a new sound?

I forgot that Ross provided the voice of Amalgamus, so I guess cost wasn't an issue in his not voicing Pidge...

Er... perfectly honest I rather hated the way Pidge sounded in the anime series. Way too squeaky.
Probably one of the only reasons i liked V3D was the fact that had some different voice actors (Hunk and pidge, like he characters, hate the voices in the anime) Plus being a fan of Futurama, i rather liked having Billy West voicing Pidge. |

I agree with LCD. Billy West did a great job as Pidge's voice in V3D.

Yeah but every time I watch Futurama now, I picture Pidge instead of Frye (sp?)

I believe V3D was set 5 years after the original series, so it would make since to give Pidge a deeper voice. "It's hard to look cool when your feet are made out of Toyotas, but I pulled it off." - Vehicle Voltron |
