You don't give much info for me to go on if you have editing software. It depends on what type of editing software you have if you have any at all. Use the text tool, type your message, float it or adjust it to where you want the text to appear and adjust the transparancy.

Yes. You can have watermarks appear for the duration of the video, or for only a specified amount of time. It's very easy to adjust.

I have Windows Media. That's about it I think. Not much to go on, I know.
You should be fine with keeping the watermark in so long as your keyframes span the entire clip (or in the case of Windows Movie Maker, the effect spans the entire clip)
