Well, this is a case of sweet justice...even though it was easier than the normal situation to apprehend this idiot.

Haven't seen this posted, so not sure if anyone knows or not.

Guy up in Calgary had a Nissan Skyline, and his own dealership. He decided to sell his highly modified Skyline. 18 year old comes in for a test drive...and doesn't return.

So, the owner...now out of a car, expecting it to be taken to a chop shop, etc goes to a car enthusiasts website where he had intended to post, but hadn't yet. His first post was to sadly let others know his sweet ride had been officially stolen.

Well instead of a chop shop, the kid was driving it around the town he stole it in, challenging people to races. Other members whom lived in the area took notice, and got pictures...and then tracked him down to his home!

In about 72 hours, the car was back in the hands of the owner. The kid was being charged. Smiler

For the full story, go to Beyond.ca

and to add a funny to it, the owner is auctioning off the hat the kid wore while he stole the car! LOL Links are provided in the Beyond site. Smiler

So much common sense missing on both sides, here. On the test drives I've had, there's always the owner or someone from the dealer in the car with you. So the owner was a dullard there. Second, if you're gonna steal a car, why steal one so custom that it can be spotted a mile away-the steering wheel was on the right-hand side, for Pete's Sake! And then, to drive said unique car in the same town you stole it from like he would never get caught? This kid so deserves jail time and a vasectomy.

Arguing over the Internet is like the Special Olympics: if you win you're still retarded.

Calgary used to be a great town to live in. As a kid visiting my grandmother, I used to leave my toys outside (including my uncle's bike) and it never got stolen! After my grandmother passed away in 1991, I didn't return until 2001. I heard there was a lot of break-ins and gang activities from the Vietnamese trying to muscle in on Chinatown. This is not the same Calgary I used to know! Somewhere between the birth of the GST and the bad economy, people changed.

Anyways, that kid looks like a doofus!
