Hey,
Sean at Media Blasters asked me to come up with some extras for the upcoming Vehicle Force DVD so I thought this being an election year in the U.S, what better way to settle the debate then to have the fans vote on which is better and why: Vehicle or Lion Force Voltron! All you have to do is cast a vote in this forum with a brief explanation and why and if it is clever enough or well written I may just use it in the video on the "extras" segment of the DVD! IF you want to take it to another level ou can make a video of yourself spouting off and send it to: World Events Productions ATTN: Jeremy 1 South Memorial Drive Suite 2000 St. Louis MO 63102 And I just might for sure put it on the DVD! So get cracking as you only have 1 week and then I gotta get this out to Sean! Sound off: Which is the better Voltron and why?! Voltron on DVD - Sept. 2006 |

Official Board Princess and Board Moderator "Keith's Angel" by: AlluraP ![]() |
In my most humble opinion, and though I do like Vehicle Voltron, my preference is Lion Voltron.
Why? Lion Voltron's story has always been something of a fairy tale fantasy for me . . . ~A Princess in distress ~Five space explorers from distant Planet Terra (Earth) to come to champion the cause of one planet in need ~A handsome hero who stands out among the space explorers to come to Princess' rescue and to the rescue of her people ~A clear antagonist (Prince Lotor) who seeks to steal the fair Princess away, while doing battle with the apparent 'hero' ~A 'hint' of a romantic interest between two of the main characters For me, Lion Voltron was easier to follow because there are fewer characters involved in the story. Not that I couldn't keep up with Vehicle Voltron's story line, but LV seemed to keep my interest more. I'm a sucker when it comes to romantic themes and clearly there was something of that going on between Commander Keith and Princess Allura. The 'Keith and Allura genre' remains one of the strongest pairings in the Voltron fandom and I think that might be one of the reasons why LV has such a strong following. That, and the lions are just plain cool!! The romance part aside, I love the design of the Voltron robot lions. I've always adored watching Keith give the command, "Ready to form Voltron!" and then getting all excited as Lion Voltron forms up and gets ready to battle the robeast enemy. Also, there was no time restriction for LV's energy levels. They could form and fly to Pollux or Mora . . . wherever. VV had, I think, a fifteen minute time limit of energy, which tended to cut down on my interest. I wanted to see Voltron - not just fifteen vehicle ships flying around. Plus in LV there was a clear villain (even if Doom nearly always lost the battle). The conflict between Lotor and Keith always made for interesting viewing. Look at how many people were dying to see the DDP Voltron comic featuring the Keith -vs- Lotor smackdown? Many of us enjoyed the times Keith and Lotor would battle it out, and not just for the honor of Princess Allura alone, but for Arus, and even for personal vendettas. There was clearly no love loss between Keith and Lotor and personally I enjoyed that very much! GO KEITH!!! Anyway, that is my 'Two Arusian Cents' worth of opinionizing. ^_~ Head over heels in love with Keith! ^_^ ~The Official Board Princess~ ~AlluraP http://alluraandkeith.homestead.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/The_Legend_of_Voltron/ |

I bet SGB will have a field day with this one. I'll post something later on. I need to think about this.

I'm sure he will! But I'm out of the frying pan. He already knows I'm an LV gal all the way.

A nit-picking, chit-throwing banana obsessive. |
Hmm...
LV was my fave, but VV has its moments, especially once the big 'bot is formed. VV always seemed a lot more aggressive in terms of combat to me. The moment just after the formation says it all; he does that punch/punch/chamber-both-fists-back-and-prepare-for-butt-stomping maneuver. Kinda like a really angry Samurai dude on roller skates. -- ZWM |

Well, LV has come out swinging many times too. I think they both have their finer points, that's for sure. I wish it were today that LV and VV had been introduced to the US. We might stand a better chance of having more of a Golion/Dairugger influence. I'd love to see Lotor slice through a king on TV today. Anyone really link VV has a chance at winning a poll here?
I mean come on that's like running KA vs well anything else. Its just not happening. BTW I vote LV, Doomites being in it and all I have no problems with your Mary-Sue if cannon supports it. The cannon supports about 180 pounds if fired correctly. |

VV was interesting:
1. Super Deer 2. Invincible Dolphins 3. An episode revolving around coconuts, and another with playing football with the Drules. The Doomites shunned the Space Olympics in LV 4. Jeff slashes the Explorer. Keith never accidentally went oopsie on the Castle of Lions. 5. Hazar's flip-flopping like a beached whale on a hot summer day. But, at least it gave me an archetype to base all future animated flip-floppers on (i.e., Zuko of Avatar, I pretty much yell out "Such a Hazar!" when I see him. Didn't know Hazar was into fire-breathing chicks, I think I found his long-lost son VV has its fun quirks |

VV could be better than LV because we were never given the honor of trying to come up LV t-shirt slogans.

in my opinion, definitely LV. I drive a car everyday and it's not that exciting. But if I drove a LION everyday? Whooo look out traffic!
