I think both covers look neat, but I don't like how they use almost the *exact same* layout. The one and only difference is whenever or not the heros are in causal clothings or in uniforms. I think having some sort of Hero/Villian lineup might've been more striking. That is; have one cover with the heros, and the other with the villians. Granted, not the most original of ideas, but better than having a near-identical setup.

I'll check but I imagine they would use a lot of the extras. Perhaps that is what that eighth disc is on Part 2?

I agree with this. They are very nice covers individually, but within a set, the second volume should have featured Zarkon and his minions, Haggar, Lotor, etc. This layout style was used on the He-Man and M.A.S.K dvds and it works perfectly. Otherwise, I'm very happy these are being released. I have the original sets, but will buy these as well because they'll take up less shelf space and be easier to access than the tins (which I love and are still awesome). So I'll probably store the tins safely and use the 2 volume complete set as my casual "viewer".
