That sort of thing can be seen in older anime also. It's there in Gatchaman, and that series is from 1972.

I think it's a film-to-digital transfer error on Media Blasters' part. Eps 19 & 20 also suffer from the same problem. The problem is also prevalent in the Voltron versions of the same eps on the U.S. DVDs.

That's right, I remember that now. I don't recall Ep 20 being like that though. How the hell did MB miss this major issue though?
The only reason MGS4 would appear on the X-Box 360 is if Kojima wanted to paint the sky red.

Good question. Given the several Voltron reconstruction misedits and some poor colour "correction", I'd say they don't have a good QC department.

See, now I kind of agree, but considering what they were doing, I can handle reconstruction edits (even though I never noticed any, even the one you posted in the other topic), and I really do not know what you mean by poor color correction, but something like those episodes should have been noticeable from the get go.

MB over-did it with the colour correction during the "remastering" process, which resulted in some colours becoming too pale or muted and some yellow colours becoming too vivid. Here's two examples of colours too pale: http://voltarchive.animation-web.com/Miscstuff/sample02.jpghttp://voltarchive.animation-web.com/Miscstuff/sample04.jpgThe images on the left are from the U.S. DVD, the images on the right are from the TOEI Channel airing of Golion (which most of us have on DVD-R). The colours on the left images are very pale in comparison to the more superior colours on the right images. Look how dull the green and blues are in the first pic, and how dull the blue and skin colours are in the second pic. Given that the U.S. DVD and the TOEI Channel airings used the SAME 16mm masters there shouldn't be such a dramatic difference in the colour quality, indicating to me MB didn't carry out the so-called colour correction properly.

No jealousy here. Hard to get jealous when the so-called "remastered" versions didn't exist at the time the Aussie DVDs came out. Just very annoyed with MB's screw-ups on the US DVD. Anyway, here's another example of poor colour correction: http://voltarchive.animation-web.com/Miscstuff/sample05.jpgAgain, the left image is from the MB DVD while the right image is from the Golion DVD-R. The cockpit interior's colour is completely grey on the MB DVD shot. It should have been light blue as shown in the Golion DVD-R shot.
