I'm pretty sure Lotor knew all the names of the Voltron Force. One small piece of evidence that attests to this is in Ep 22 "The Deadly Flowers" when he mentions Lance's name: "Fool! You forgot that the stones on this planet are highly magnetic. My dear Lance, it's goodbye to you forever!" Anyways, I've gotten through most of the DVD and am enjoying it. Loved Kurogane's "I wish I was Platt" in Ep 21 when Platt scurried down the neck piece of Farla's uniform. Still very annoyed with some of the poor so-called "colour correction" that MB did though. I find it quite distracting at times.

The only thing that ruins it for me is that really tacky song they play for each Lion. I could do without it - makes me laugh and cringe at the same time. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this set and I'm looking forward to the rest.
By the way, is it just me or were the Voltron series eps a little out of whack? It seems with Go-Lion, there's a continuity of Honerva starting out with purely organic Beastmen and then switching to mecha. Is that so?

That's the trend in Voltron as well until Season 2 starts. In Season 2, she kinda reverts back to organic styles of Robeasts. So, the Golion and S1 eps follow the same trend, but S2 deviates (what a shock, I know ) Arguing over the Internet is like the Special Olympics: if you win you're still retarded.

I picked up my DVD set from Best Buy the other day, and I noticed something strange when I opened up the package. Underneath the DVD holders there is the same picture of the lions and the beastman just like on the Golion volume 1 set, but the picture is flipped. The beastman is on the left, the lions are on the right, and they're all flying upside-down! Has anyone else noticed this?

The pictures are fine on my copy of the DVD.

I have four more episodes to watch - but do they ever sing a song for Yellow Lion? I don't recall hearing one. That wouldn't be fair at all. At least in that ep where Seidou screwed up and redeemed himself, they could have been playing it, but nooooo ... same old generic Black Lion song. Every OTHER Lion got a song, so it's NOT FAIR for Yellow Lion not to get a song too.

You'll hear it in episode 35. And yes, Yellow Lion got the shaft as far as the songs goes. I'm just hoping we'll see more of it in the upcoming episodes; if only to balance things out a bit.

I've been relishing these.
Has anyone found theirs in a store? No place here got them, and I've ordered both of my sets from amazon.com.
My appreciation for what WEP accomplished grows as I learn more about Golion. While I prefer the darker, more desperate tone of Golion, WEP sure improved the music for Voltron. A lot of the most dramatic musical moments of Voltron did not have the same impact in Golion.
Does anyone know if the characters really do curse like the subtitles say? I find that amusing, but I also question if that's really what the Japanese translates to.
My favorite episode of these DVD's is the sleeping princess episode from Voltron (which is also my favorite Voltron episode). Sincline became more tragic than Lotor. A lot of the emotional thrust of that episode was changed. I wonder if it will be revealed in the last episodes of Golion that Sincline learns the fate of his mother and this is part of his motivation to overthrow Daibazaal. I wonder if that's what Honerva tells him before he kills her.

Alright I finally heard it - about friggin' time!! Any episode where Seidou stands out should use that song, but it seems to me like the creators of the show were at that point slowly learning what to do with the music. It's less disjointed in later episodes.

That's because it was cut from Voltron.
