Hi!
About the upcoming Voltron DVDs....
You know how the "Transformers" and "G.I. Joe" DVD sets from Rhino all have the commercial bumpers in each episode (e.g. "The Transformers will return after these messages", "We now return to the Transformers")
How do you guys feel about the "Voltron" DVDs having it's commercial bumpers in each episode??
"Voltron"'s commercial bumpers are voiced by the one and only, Peter Cullen (voice of Coran, King Alphor, the announcer).
Please reply, as this will help Jeremy C.

I wonder if it's something you could enable/disable in the dvd menu...I'd kind of like them in there.

I like them on the video I got from WEP (Fleet of Doom), so I wouldn't mind them on the DVDs. Makes it seem more complete that way!

I think they did it for Robotech. I agree that it would make the collection more complete.

They did it for Robotech but not Thundercats...I sure hope my kids like Voltron as much as they now like Thundercats, which they were determined to hate-the power of the sword of omens....

I, too, would like to see the commercial bumpers included on the DVDs. I've got them on my "Fleet of Doom" videotape myself. I remember the first time I watched the video, the bumpers DID make things feel more "complete." Plus, since I only first got into Voltron back in '97 (Wow, has it been THAT long ago?!), I didn't really get to see the bumpers when I watched the episodes on Toonami, although I DID kinda like the bumpers for the "New Adventures" (AKA Season 2) episodes. Since the DVDs (and upcoming movie) will most likely produce a whole new group of young fans, I think it'd be cool to have the bumpers included, so that the kiddos could get more of a feel for what cartoons were like back when their parents were kids. Which reminds me that I AM old enough to have my own kiddos, although I don't forsee myself having any for the time being. Oh well, I'll quit rambling for this post. The Doomite Is Out!

On the subject of the original commercial bumpers (which aired during "Voltron"'s syndicated run from 1984 - 1987 or '88), here's an interesting factoid:

When "Voltron" ran on USA Network back in the mid - late 90s, they aired the original commercial bumpers, too!

Just wanted to post this again (especially for those who have not had a chance to respond to this post)....

If you would like to see the original "Voltron" commercial bumpers on each episode on the forthcoming DVDs, say "I" or something like that. Smiler

Some of you (including myself) may own the Rhino DVD box sets of the original "Transformers" and "G.I. Joe".....Rhino included the original commercial bumpers in every episode of those DVDs, making the viewing experience seem more "complete".
So far, all who have responded to "Commercial Bumpers on 'Voltron' DVDs" said YES, because many of you have said that it would make the viewing experience feel more "complete".

Also, the "Best of 'Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs'" Vol. 1 DVDs have their original commercial bumpers intact.

So be sure to add your say today!

Jodi
