So WEP actually dubbed the first episode of Daltanius??

If so, has this or will this appear as a speical feature on any of the Tin box DVD sets???

I only have Blue Lion so far.

It's possible it was dubbed.

With the exception of the LV pilot episodes, no Daltanius stuff has appeared on any DVDs thus far.

Well, if, by any chance you refer to my signiture, Albegas is absent because I think Daltanious makes a much better Voltron II than Albegas because:

1. I had the Daltanious toy from Bandai America and it was one of my all time favorite toys. It gave me so much joy in my childhood.

2. Daltanius has an elegant midieval asthetic which imparts a sense that it could be related to L V. Like how L V has a coat of arms crest on his chest, Daltanious has Imperial German Iron Crosses on his shoulders and legs.

3. Dude, Daltanius has got a fricken gold lion that forms it mid-section, for pete sake!! Nuff said!

4. Daltanius has a humanoid face that is more like BOTH L V and V V.

5. I DON'T like the Albegas design. I also had the Voltron II(Albegas) toys. I didn't ask for them. Like any kid with a toy, I made the most of it, but I could live without them. I just don't dig on Albegas.

Keep in mind I said this is in my heart. And even though I've got Godisigma, I wouldn't seriously replace Dairugger with Godsigma.

So, it just an opinion. Oops, I guess I just declared war!! JK.

Actually my question was, where does Daltanious fit in with Voltron? Last I knew, it was only Albegas, Golion, and Dairugger XV. When did Daltanious suddenly become a candidate?

I've also read somewhere that the Albegas design being released as a Voltron II toy had more to do with Matchbox than WEP.

Daltanius as Voltron II makes sense, if you look at it as a Lion Voltron junior, or a LV prototype. They both have the lion, and the cross on their body, so why not? I think it would be a very interesting fan fiction project if someone were to write a Daltanius/Lion Voltron crossover, with how the two could possibly be related, along with a possible link to Vehicle Voltron, and maybe even Albegas.

WEP originally wanted Daltanious, DaiRugger XV and Albegas for Voltron. GoLion was never originally in the mix.

But when WEP requested the Daltanious masters from TOEI by saying "we want the lion one", TOEI thought WEP meant GoLion and sent that series' episode masters instead.

WEP evidently took a liking to GoLion and decided to make a Voltron series out of that.

And thus, Lion Voltron was born.


I'm not sure at what point WEP dropped Daltanious.

Man, I'd really like to sit down with Ted Koplar and discuss in more detail about how the Voltron shows came to fruition and what went on with Albegas and Daltanious being dropped.

YES!!! Thank you! The first person to see what I'm talking about!!

Look at his face, as well! Daltanious has one of the more humanoid looking faces like the other two Voltrons. (Albegas looks completly machine).

Did you see that other thread I started in the Lion Voltron section?? I posted a youtube video I found of a Daltanious episode. I'M TELLING YOU, THERE IS A READY MADE, GOOD TO GO BROTHER FOR BOTH PIDGE & CHIP!!!! Look at the kid in the video and you'll see what I mean!!!

As far as story, well, we know Princess Allura's cousin is Princess Romelle, right? Well, maybe there is another character in Daltanious who could be in the same bloodline, hence, good King Alfar shared the secrets of Voltron?

One thing I know of the Daltanious story is that the Gold Lion, Beleros, is a sentient being. It has it's own conscionse. It is not piloted.


Good King Alfar's spirit allerts Coran that another planet is about to be attacked. Alfar then reveals to Coran that he had hidden away the blueprints for ANOTHER VOLTRON!!! Lion Force then not only has to deliver the plans to this planet, but find and train two new pilots!! Good King Alfar's spirit will INHABIT AND CONTROL THE ROBOT LION "BELEROS"!!!!

This would require some additional animation, but heck, if they did it with Fleet of Doom...

Man, I'm all pumped now!!
