Hello. This post is little belated (I've been stationed overseas for a while and consequently have been under a rock concerning the goings-on of anything media-related), but I justwatched the youtube video clips for the German dub, and I have to say, it looks and sounds pretty cool. I thought that most of the voices fit the characters very well. The lack of subtitles is kind of a bummer, as Italian is really the only foreign language I can understand, but I still enjoyed watching them very much. Great work!

Hi at all! Long time no "see". I just want to say that there are new clips on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/GermanVoltronForceAt the moment we're in pre-production of our volume 5 / recording session for episodes 2-41 - 2-49.

Servus! I just want to tell you, that the trailer for (probably) our last DVD is out. English subtitles are also available on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKWmoqaSe4UIt's sad that we won't dub Vehicle and the last Lion Force season but at least our time with this wonderful show was pretty cool. Maybe the other seasons will have a chance if the new show aires on German television (a thing I'm looking forward to and I would gladly dub it, but it's pretty unlikely).

What kind of factors would contribute to a lack of DVD sales of this dub? I mean, in comparison, in the USA Media Blasters basically said this was their hottest-selling item. Is there a lack of popularity of the series in general in Germany, in comparison? Or do they have a general distaste in dubs? Or...?

Yes, that's it. Voltron was never a big show over here. It came much later than Saber Rider, was only aired once, this aiting was never complete and the order was wrong (first all 52 episodes of Vehicle, then only 22 episodes of Lion). Besides that, the market for anime (and cartoons) on DVD is pretty weak in Germany and there is a big problem with the DVD-ripper/illegal downloads. quote: Originally posted by KiddoCabbusses: Or do they have a general distaste in dubs? Not at all. Germany is "Dubbing Land". Almost everything is dubbed over here and it's a huge business. In fact dubbing was invented in Germany. Shortly after WW2 (although there were dubs before WW2, but after the war, it became a huge business).

Strange to hear that they got all of Vehicle Voltron first. Was that dubbed in German then? Is that archived much...?
