It is a good morning indeed! I just read and looked at the above mentioned article on the preview disc that Media Blasters sent to tvshowsondvd.com
They loved the video! Given that the material is about 25 years old, the video is also going to have it's inevitable little imperfections here and there. But the screen shots on the above article are, indeed, gorgeous!! And about the fonts (Castle Doom, Galaxy Garrison, Planet Arus, Castle of Lions)...I examined them closely and compared them to the fonts used in the end credits...they are nothing to lose sleep over.
The audio...I read the 5.1 is not to be missed (that good), but the 2.0 (stereo) is there for the "old schoolers".
These DVDs definitely look like they were worth the wait! Please take a look at the above article.

Picture looks great so far, but a little bit darker than I was expecting. It could be my monitor though. But damn, the sharpness and clarity is great!


The different font type in the "Galaxy Garrison" shot is very noticeable though, especially the letter "X". Did Media Blasters not have access to the Crillee font? That was the font type used in the 80s. I managed to get the font, so Media Blasters should have been able to as well.

Also, didn't any of the spot checkers notice the spelling mistake?


And it looks as if the DVDs will have 2.0 audio as well, which I'm pleased with. I do have a 5.1 speaker setup but unfortunately none of my DVD players have 5.1 decoders so I'm stuck with listening to either actual 2.0 tracks or downconverted 5.1 tracks (which aren't that bassy on 2.0 speaker settings).

Arrrrrgh! I really really REALLY wish I still worked for ANN right now.

Hmmm...yeah, I suppose I can dig the new font; it's not 100 percent spot-on with the original "Crillee," but reasonably enough so that my subconscious barely notices much of a huge style-difference at a glance. It's there, but by no means overtly so.

That said, damn, but I'm totally grooving on those remastered screenshots -- the vast majority of the images are pure sexy ginch. They're so clean you could lick chocolate pudding off them and not taste anything but sweet, sweet pudding.

Wow, those screenshots are extra crispy! I don't care about the font so much since I never particularly liked it anyhow The spell-checking thing does irk a bit, but if they manage to send a few out before correcting it, collector's item it shall become.

Oh, do I love that crispiness!
