I recently purchased and enjoyed volume one of the Voltron DVD box sets. Unfortunately in addition to the well known "Galaxy Garrision" spelling error in an early episode, I noticed a more significant spelling error in the end credits of every episode: Lennie Weinrib's name is misspelled "Lennie Wienrib." Is there any chance that this can be fixed in future DVD releases?

His name was misspelled in the original airings of the series as well.

Interesting. I wonder if the new misspelling was deliberate -- to be faithful to the original misspelling lol -- or a new, coincidentally similar error.

If you're referring to the end credits of the show itself then I think its more of the mispelling not being able to be fixed than simply trying to be true to the original.

Though weren't they forced to recreate the end credit titles the same way they did with the locale-captions? As a Screen Actor's Guild credit issue, it would've served them to fix the mistake, though they were likely striving for total "vintage recreation," warts and all.

*shrugs* Honestly, I'm not sure what the process for fixing the end credits would be. It could be that those working on remastering the show just didn't see it. But they, and we, must ask this question: Is fixing it justifiable?

The DVDs on those two sites are bootlegs. Don't buy them.

Voltron is indeed on DVD in Australia. Voltron's been on DVD in Australia since 2004. Madman Entertainment released all Voltron episodes across 8 DVD sets:

Lion Force Voltron Collections 1-5 (all 72 Lion Voltron episodes)

Vehicle Force Voltron Collections 1-3 (all 52 Vehicle Voltron episdes)

You can find the DVDs at stores that stock Madman products, such as Electronics Boutique and JB Hi-Fi. You can also order the DVDs from www.ezydvd.com.au

Hope that helps.

To be totally honest with you I would not touch the Madman set, Order the Media Blasters set as they come out and get a region free dvd player. The Madman sets have no special features and were not remastered. The first Media Blaster set has eps 1 to 15, interviews with the people that created Voltron, the two original pilots and the creation of the dvd's. Plus these episodes were rebuilt using the original Golion footage fresh from Toei, not old broadcast tapes.

and this was just the first set! Smiler

Media Blasters was trying to recreate the vintage spelling as it was in the originals. Including misspellings. The font for the closing credits wasn't available.

Actually, it is. You just need to look for it. If I found the font, then Media Blasters should have too. I don't think they tried hard enough to get it.

I do want to see Dairugger XV and Go Lion
uncut and unedited and digital enhanced.
English sub on DVD. Dairugger XV did verry poor in Japan. many times one series goes bad can make an entire business close down.
It was done at the wrong time When businessess in Japan was closing down right after the other.
Even the original toy company that made Macross collector's toys went out of business. Some of the items Bandai Japan paid for it. Some was not releaded.
