I was just wondering why they skipped around on the DVDs episodes? They did the same with the Animated Adventures of Batman boxed sets. Does it mess the story line up much by them skipping and rearranging original air date episodes or were the original air dates in the wrong order? I am new to Voltron and was just wondering. I found the original air date episodes on www.tv.com.

4. "The Missing Key" 4 9/13/1984
5. "The Princess Joins Up" 5 9/14/1984
6. "The Right Arm of Voltron" 6 9/17/1984

The episodes are in the right order on the DVD.

Some episodes were aired in the wrong order in the 80s, hence your confusion.

Nope.

What makes you ask that?

When I compare the episode list showing the the episodes in the order of original broadcast with the episode list showing the order used for the DVDs, I can't find certain episodes from the original list on the new list. Such as:
In Search Of New Worlds
A Storm Of Meteors
Planet Of The Bats

Just to name a few episodes.

Also I just noticed, that the original broadcast list shows 81 episodes of Lion Voltron, while the DVD order list shows only 72 episodes. What's going on here?

That's because those are Vehicle Voltron episodes.

Both Voltron shows were not aired in the correct order during the original airings in the 80s, and some networks alternated between LV and VV episodes.

Quite a few online episode listings are incorrect and whoever compiles them don't do their homework.

LV has 72 episodes, not 81.

Do you know of an episode list online that is accurate? (both original broadcast order and the new order)

I don't know of any sites that accurately lists episodes in their original airdate order, but there are a few fansites that do list episodes in their chronologically correct order.

Have you tried www.epguides.com?

The only reason MGS4 would appear on the X-Box 360 is if Kojima wanted to paint the sky red.

Yes, to my knowledge, the episodes are definitely in their original order.

This was very confusing. It seems the episodes on the DVD ARE NOT in order as after Lotor kidnapped that other Princess and he was supposed to stop in Arus to refuel or something the next episode totally disregards this and then the storyline picks up with the kidnapped Princess in a later episode.

Not trying to get caught up in that and I'm just happy to be able to enjoy all these episodes.

Here is the thing though. Even in the next episode with Romelle, they are on Doom and she escapes only to land onto that ice planet, so saying anything about Arus in the first episode was pointless altogether. The episodes however are in the order that they were in Golion.

Like all series from the 80s, not one episode was shown in order. Look at Thundercats for example. They broke up the trials of Lion-O from being 5 episodes into being spread apart by like every 4-5 episodes, which really blows. And WB dropped the ball on the DVDs by keeping it that way. Even Transformers aired differently depending on your location.
