One of the problems that dogged DAIRUGGER XV/VEHICLE FORCE VOLTRON is that the title robot had fifteen pilots, giving the series maybe the largest ensemble cast for a Super Robot genre series ever.

Overall, the series focused on the three unit leaders (Jeff, Cliff, and Crik). A few other characters, particularly Chip and Lisa, also got a bit more screentime and dialogue, but quite a few of the other members of the Vehicle Voltron Force got almost NO character development or meaningful screentime.

So which of the relatively lesser-known Vehicle Voltron members would you liked to have seen more of?

I would love to answer that, but it's been so long since I saw the series. I wanted to review, but I cannot find the tapes that were generously sent to me some time ago (probably a lend and no return deal).

But in general, I think you've hit the nail on the head when it comes to DXV. With all those people and only so many episodes to tell the story with, it would be next to impossible to give each and every one a spotlight moment. Not to mention all the work the animation requred. I shudder just thinking about that segment in the credits where it starts with Jeff, then pans around to show the *entire* team. Eeker I bet more than one of the animators drank themselves into a stupor after doing that one. Wink

But back to your original question. I am going to say Zandee. Just because.

With the notable exceptions of Jeff, Cliff and Crick, most of the other team members are just faces with names, so it's tough to pick one who had enough potential to be more fleshed out as a character.

As a kid I had a tough time watching VV -- partially because I enjoyed LV so much, but also because it was hard to try to keep track of everyone. I remember jotting down a list of the various vehicles and trying to match them up with the pilots, but I think I only figured out 12 of the 15 vehicle-pilot combos. If only the Internet existed in 1984! Big Grin
