WEP made a combined opening and ending theme? Kind of like how Robotech did. I think maybe their wouldn't have been as much shock and dissapointment when LV was replaced by VV on the airwaves. I'm speaking from personal childhood experience. When LV ended and VV started my initial thought was like huh? Thats not Voltron what the hell happened to Voltron and Kieth and the guys. When you watch the Robotech opening you knew their was more to it.

Maybe if they had featured more VV characters throughout the LV series and established the link between the Galaxy Alliance and the Drule Empire earlier, possibly.

Where I lived growing up, they showed the LV eps far more than the VV eps. I can remember being excited after the end of LV thinking they'd start VV but then they'd just re-run LV eps.

As a kid I liked VV a little better. It seemed more grown-up to me and the characters had more depth, and I felt smart watching it. Not to say LV was dumb, but I thought the whole Earth-is-too-crowded-and-we-need-new-planets angle was thought provoking, as was the why-can't-we-all-just-get-along political dilemma of the Alliance and the Drules.

I can understand the sentiment towards a more unified, cohesive Voltron opening, one bridging the two series together. But there's a problem with that which Robotech never had -- each respective Voltron opening is specific to a particular group, and the narration is tailored to fit. Whereas, Robotech had no opening narration to speak of, and was simply a montage of scenes from each different series.

It was much better suited to ultimately receive custom-job opening titles for the remastered version, but in the case of Voltron, unless they're willing to pay to have Peter Cullen record new VO work or something, I don't quite see it happening.

For myself, it was also a matter of storytelling -- growing up, like most folks, I thought the parallel environment of Planet Arus was coolness, but the Explorer was the balls, and anyone who disagreed with me was clearly doing shots of high-proof crazy juice.

Biggest ptroblem with VV

Weak villians

The CAPT of the the day always doed, I mean escaped, and Hazar was a waffling weak willed weenie who needed to be launched out an airlock

I have no problems with your Mary-Sue if cannon supports it.

The cannon supports about 180 pounds if fired correctly.

You could get into the popular evil characters. Throk, Nerok *cough*fat bastard*cough*, and even sometimes Kheezor were good in their role. Then you get into the "Drule du jour" (you know, similar to the red shirt guys on Star Trek) and all hell breaks loose.

I like the internal conflict that Hazar has to deal with, but it could have been done better. Hazar's role is best served at a ball park.

Maybe if they did it as a generational thing like Robotech.

They should've just shown some of the VV characters throughout the LV series like they did in the LV Episode; Summit Meeting. I heard that Hazar was in that episode & think this is where the VV force should've been introduced.

VV was sort of confusing, cuz of the amount of members on the VV team versus the LV team. When I was writing the Snoop Dogg/Voltron Fanfic, it was rather difficult for me to remember VV characters. The only ones I was able to recall were Jeff, Ginger, Chip, Lisa, Hazar, Dorma, & Viceroy Throk.

Back when I was watching VV when I was in the 6th grade, I couldn't get into it as much, cuz it was difficult for me to comprehend back then. Now, I'm pretty much getting more into it.

I'd like to see more episodes. Especially where Hazar's involved.

VV might have been better received if the cast had been smaller. In LV kids were accustomed to learning about each member of the Voltron Force. In VV kids couldn't even keep up with the names of the people on the Voltron Force!
