Justin Marks' script has been scrapped.

I like to know how the search for a new screenwriter and new director.

Hey just wanted to say real quick that the recent Variety article which was wrong mentioning the movie being "scrapped" in favor of the new animated series.

The live action movie is still going strong and in fact we may have some cool news to report soon. It is in fact the main event of the entire plan as the animated series is meant to create a nice fanbase and introduce kids to Voltron so they will know who the Defender of the Universe is when the movie comes out.

Excellent good new Admin. I had a feeling everything was under lock and key considering the "supposed" Mark's script got leaked and all.

Quick questions with the new series is it going to be shown world wide? I live in Australia and I don't have pay tv (Nick is on pay tv for us) so do you know if its going to be on free to air?

This is very encouraging news. It implies the movie will be at least 'somewhat' close to the new series, which I'm assuming is a space opera.

I'm still hoping it's a PG-13 movie... just because 'nobody' takes PG seriously anymore.

The producers of the VOLTRON LIVE ACTION FILM says that the film is still in developement. In fact, they are close to hiring a new screenwriter and will make a announcement soon. This came out a hour ago, or so. This screenwriter will write the script and is top notch screenwriter. However, it is still too early for the name of the new director.

So.. hmmm... what to discuss, what to discuss

ok, heres one, i got it!

So lets say that everything starts coming together... and we have a Lion Voltron movie by like... 2014, which by the current disclosed state of things, probably not unrealistic,got a couple of things to ponder

1. Providing WB doesnt scrap it or something, Voltron will probably be up against Robotech.... who wins?

2. Do you expect a sequel of Voltron in like 2017 to include more of the Lions, or the Lions with the introduction of Vehicle Voltron?

3. Back to question one... that may be when we see Transformers 4 (i heard once Bay has like 6 planned) Would that be the greatest 80s sci-fi anime summer ever?

4. When the movie come out... which character will you attend the premier dressed as... and will you use the traditional costume, or the "new and improved" costume?

I know.. all devils advocate and pure speculation.. but entertaining possibilities to ponder

They hope to have the film out by the summer of 2013, which is two years after the new tv series starts.

What is going on. In June of this year, we recieve word that a new screenwriter is going to be announced soon. Now it is August and we still have not any word. What gives? You wouldn't believe what I have been doing since then. I have been looking through VOLTRON BING for any new announcements. BING is a search and decide engine.

I wonder if they are waiting to see how the series does?

According to some of the information that I have come across, the screenwriter-whoever he is- along with the producers will get ideas from the production staff for the new series. By the way I am waiting for that myself. I have made a staff chart for the entire project. This comes from information from -ABOUT ATLAS ENTERTAINMENT- which is on WEP news page, from film insider profile page for VOLTRON, and from the reports about screenwriter being close to being secured. I remember seeing something about writer being selected for the series but I dont remember who it was. That was one thing that I have not put it down on that chart and it includes producers, executive producers, and a RUMORED star. RUMORED STAR is shown on the FILM INSIDER profile page for VOLTRON.

Does it suck? yes.

Does waiting years and years for something that was talked about with gusto at one time make ya wonder if its ever gonna happen? Most definitely.

I fail to comprehend why you announce a movie that most likely is not going to be made for maybe 5+ years. Blizzard did it with Warcraft, HG did it with Robotech, and WEP with Voltron.
The idea that some people put out that "its a great way to build hype" is BS in my opinion.. all it does is upset the fans and makes everyone else say "oh ya, i heard about that once,, whatever happened with that?"

The redeeming cases though are these:

Blizzard is a proven company that prints money and takes amazing pride in doing things right, so I have total faith that their movie will materialize.

WEP has demonstrated over the last few years that they have their ducks in a row and can make this happen. Updated the website, released quality DVD sets, licensed new and cool merch, have an Admin that will talk to the fans and not yell at them, has released new media in the form of the comics, artbook and phone app, and has a new TV series that will be coming out soon.

So, yeah, I have faith in WEP to get their stuff together, produce the LAM, and make it quality.

Definitley possible that the TV series will be a linchpin to making the LAM happen. It will likely value WEP's "stock" in Hollywood, and determine what kind of funding a studio can provide for the film. I would assume that their stock has been rising over the last few years, but the series will cement their value I belive.

So, ya, info is slow, waiting sucks, but at least try and take comfort in the strides that WEP has made in the last few years.

And if the movie doesn't happen, there had better be a damn good reason that is fully disclosed

Wtf is "FILM INSIDER"? If you pop that into Google, you get squat. Post a link or stop talking about secrets as if you hold some insider knowledge gleaned from the exclusive Bing oracle.

On top of that profile page, it is actually called Movie insider. When a studio is secured it provides representatives who controls the finances. They are known as executive producers and they normally dont have any technical control of production.
