IF that is the case then perhaps someone is listen or in this case reading the forums and taking in account what we say/write. It would be nice if it were true. Perhaps they can get a script writer who can actually write and take in account the original and classic story of Voltron.

I hope that is true and I had trouble saying what I had said in my last post. According to another thing I read, I think yesterday, said that another report didn't say anything about Justin Mark's script and nothing about the director announced earlier. However, it is not attached to studio but there is overall agreement with either Warner and/or Sony. In the movie profile in the film insider, there is one star in the cast at this time. The synopysis, which was added July 20, 2009, has it on planet Arus, with Zarkon as the main villian. I hope that is right but the film is definitely in developement.

The best person to write the script would be one of the producer. In addition to producers who signed on July 20, Ted Kopplar was added and one other one. Ted Kopplar is part of World Events Productions, which produced the original American series. He would write script that would be consistent with what we know.

I doubt that Koplar would write anything with the script. At most, maybe approve or disapprove of it depending on how much power he has over the production.

There are a lot of good script writers out there. Something like Voltron should be given to a veteran who knows how to write, not a newbie like Marks.

Let's put it this way KeithBlackLion, Ted Koplar certainly has the clout to determine what would be a good script, since he is with World Events Production. According, to one thing I read, the movie is tentivaly(pardon my spelling) scheduled for release for sometime in 2011. At this time, they don't have a studio but Atlas Productions has a overall deal with either Warner Brothers and/or Sony. I found this information (some duplicated) on internet by searching under VOLTRON, under movies, and looked at reports that were recent.

Tep Koplar would have a key role in production because he is producer who was producer of the original series. Also Atlas Productions should have been Atlas Entertainment.

Sorry lionbrian but I am going with KBL with this Ted Koplar is head or one of the head of WEP, I mean why would he write the script for the Voltron Movie? It kinda does not make sense but basically what Ted says goes really.

I sort of hope this film doesn't get made. Looking at how The Transformers films turned out, I really don't think hollywood could do the franchise justice.

I'd be more amenable to Toei producing a live action film version of Golion (or more so Dairugger). But, this of course probably won't ever happen.

If a Voltron film ever gets made (and I bet it will eventually) I'd be very surprised if it wasn't a disappointment to hardcore fans of the series. Again, I think I'd be happier if they just left the series alone.

Bear in mind how much Transformers and Transformers2 made. Transformers2 made 400million dollars in US market alone and they are in early stages of developement for another sequel.

Enough about that. If script has been re-written and I think that it is at least being re-written, it should do well. However, that can only happen if it is rewritten in the way we would expect it to.

I hope they don't make it into another "Speed Racer" or "Dragonball." We have the technology and better writers to make a good Voltron movie!! Why can't they do it right?

If it was done right Marks wouldn't have had his hands in the pot or have been involved at all.

I agree! That is a scary thought. That's like taking kryptonite out of the Superman story or getting rid of the witch in Wizard of Oz..or...or omitting Lenny and Squiggy from Laverne and Shirly!
