I am really sick of reading how Voltron is compared with Power Rangers, I can sort of understand Transformers even thought Voltron came first but Power Rangers? I sort of saw a bit when my youngest brother was little he loved them, I laughed when they talked with there hands. LOL! I think those writing the articles should look at dates and years before they compare, most of them are making out that Voltron is rip off of Power Rangers.

It is just too bad a new series of Voltron will not be made or aired before the movie is released. Then hopefully the idiots who write these articles will see for themselves but then again they must off been born after the mid 80s.

*sighs* I suppose I could always hope and dream for a new series. LOL!

I should come with a warning label but it wore off years ago. LOL!

Yeah I'm 31 years of age and I grew up in the 80's watching all the classics --

Battle Of The Planets (G-force) Original 80's
Transformers
G.I. Joe
Robotech
Voltron
Thunder-Cats
Silverhawks
He-Man
Ultra-Man
Speed Racer
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors
Pirates of Dark Waters
Mysterious Cities of Gold
Smurfs
Fraggle Rock
Danger Mouse
Ghost-busters
Mask
Mighty Orbots
Jem Aka: Jem & the Holograms
Pole Position
Inhumanoids
Adventures of The Galaxy Riders
Dinosaucers
Spiral-Zone
Turbo Teen
Saber Rider
Dungeons & Dragons
Tigersharks
Challenge Of The Go-bots
Robotix
The Snorks
Galaxy Rangers
She-Ra

.... and the list goes on and on. We can all name about 40-100 shows I probably missed.

But the point is we supported Voltron and our shows back in the day.

Before the internet took on in 1996 and the world was brought a lot closer. Big Grin Us real fans supported our shows.

Now I grew up watching Japanese animated and live action sentai shows. Like I stated I watched the Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, everytime it came on TV.

Also even Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993 when I was like 16 years of age. Heck I waited years in fact my whole life (until 16 Cool) for America to catch on to the Japanese thing,

that most of us TRUE FANS were aware of all along and waited so patiently for it to hit main stream American audiences.

Like it or not, Power Rangers was the start in a lot of ways for major networks to invest in the craze.

Soon after we got everything from Pokemon to... well you get the point.

But for us true die hard fans we know the difference between Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger AKA: Saban's Mighty Morphin Power rangers & Voltron.

They had plenty of giant robot action going on in the 60's 70's & 80's in Japan. Everything always merged, that was what made it so cool in the cartoons and live action cinema there.

How I wish a Voltron cartoon would come out before the live action movie also, but since this is the new millennium of movies, Hollywood has to make it a kids tale.

Who wants to watch a Voltron/ Harry Potter kids movie or some gay crap like that.

Heck they better give us what we want, waited for, & have supported see all these years. But than again it all depends on the DIRECTOR, & PRODUCER(S) Plot=script & budget too.

But hey if all else fails & the movie sucks we can always-- leaves & grabs morpher-- comes back

Dino....B-U-C-K-L-E-R ! ! ! Razzer

Idiots on websites like JoBlo.com aren't worth the time to chew them out. They think that their opinions actually matter just because they are writting for a website. If someone at the New York Times or Entertainment Magazine wrote that, then I would definitely correct them.

Well bloggers like the idiots at JoBlo .Like They say what opinions are like _____holes and everyones got one.But also Bloggers case in point Perez Hilton do have the power to sway popular/public opinions. But KBL all-in-all you are correct in your observation at least on a certain level. But in my humble opinion the Blogger is in an essence like a viral entity on the internet.Inwhich their opinions infect the majority in whole or maybe in part. But for some people to try to rationalize their disgust with a blogger by expending valuable energy to post it on another web site.Well that is sorta silly don't you think. So I am in accordance with you on the ridiculessness of it all.

Ash: Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?

The version of "GOLION" we know of -as "VOLTRON" has really endured to us, here, because of the love interest relationship between two main characters. Don't see how some of you here upon these pages feel it would be the "VOLTRON" you come to know WITHOUT that dramatic element or that element not furthering into the live film.

Heck,... love is life, people.
Don't you feel that, or instinctly know that??? It's what drives those "cartoon characters" to action. Its what we as real living people and as in society ...are SUPPOSE to emulate towards one another. Hence, why we invent such stories ("GOLION = VOLTRON") to convey.
How could you all think a Voltron film be, be anything without that element.
Feeling for these characters ...is feeling your natural humanity.
And that my friends is what anime has been about (....and why you've loved it?!).

Lotorsgurl: You're right that soem bloggers can have a major influence upon the public. It's rather tragic really. It just seems like those who have the most influence and are the most popular are the ones who spout off the most B.S. without really saying anything intelligent.

I suppose that's why I dislike bloggers such as that guy on JoBlow and the one from LatinoReview who first told us about the Voltron movie. Both presented their opinions about Voltron, however, nothing was really said to back up the opinion. LatinoReview merely spouted off various curse words to express his excitement over the script and JoBlow did nothing more than insult Voltron. I mean, if you're gonna state an opinion, at least show facts that support it...am I not correct in that sentiment?

Maxvolt: I may be reading your post wrong but it seems that you think we don't want love or compassion or caring in the Voltron movie. This is incorrect. My biggest problem with the current script is HOW love and compassion and caring are represented. For instance, Keith is a cold hearted person who cares only for himself in Justin Marks' script. I don't think that the character should be presented like that. Keith always put others before himself and that's how it should be in the movie. I just don't want Voltron to be like Transformers where Keith stumbles over himself like an idiot when Allura is around and I certainly don't want Allura to be like Megan Fox in TF2 (trying to get Sam to say "I love you" throughout the movie was unnecessary).

If I did read your post wrong than I appologize and please correct me if necessary, but we do want all the elements of humanity pulling together and the characters caring for each other. We want to care about the characters, that's why we've been fighting against the Marks script from the beginning. The way the script portrays the characters, it's difficult to care about them.

Im a big fan of the show from back in the day, even still have the toy around today. It was probably my favorite of my childhood cartoons.
ok so id love to see a live action version today but to be honest if it cant be done right, dont do it at all. It would suck to see a great old memory brought back as a crap movie. I don't know who will be handling the movie but these are my thoughts as a fan and what I would like in a movie version..... I think the movie should stick close to the original story and characters. Characters can be various colors but characters need to reflect the personality of originals. Voltron has a great lord of the rings meets star wars feel. Effort should be put into creating that type of tech advanced yet magical world enviroment. Effects are the big thing for me , 2nd only to storyline. Don't know what kind of budget this movie will have but after seeing transformers 1&2, I wouldn't be happy if Voltron didn't look just as cool as optimus prime did in his 2 movies. Someone needs to give industrial light and magic a call, we need voltron to look real.lol It would be awsome if peter jackson would direct this.lol He could bring the fantasy element of this to life so well. Oh well hope this turns out great and its not some cheap stab at bringing it to life.

I hope the movie is done correctly and in a manner that would do Voltron honor. Yes, I just got the e-mail that came through VOLTRON.com that came from WEP. I am eagerly awaiting the official MEDIA RELEASE.

Well it does seem promising as long as the script is changed.

With everything that I have read on other sources about Dark Knight's production of VOLTRON -to this point-, it is not clear if another script is written or original script has been significantly re-written. How, according to one source, the lions will be cg images mixed with live actions. It is not clear whether the director announced earlier is still part of it or not.

Let's pressure the new guys. Let them hear us ROAR!

We don't want to pressure them too much or they might not listen at all. Perhaps a letter written to the office of the producers clearly stating our dissatisfaction with the Marks' script (without being hostile) and stating the major areas of improvement (basically, bring in a new script) might help.

Have the original japanese creators/ writers to "GOLION" been known to have been approached to continuing "Golion" -as "VOLTRON" with for a live film draft?
Are they even known about?

That would be someway historic in Hollywood movie writing.

What I mean is not too much pressure but some pressure. That last part was to lighten up the mood. As it is, I found another online source and that is Movie Insider. According to that, the movie has 4 different production companies and even has one actor. Also according to the synopsis I read the planet of choice was planet Arus and the villian of choice was Zarkon. That synopsis was added July 20, 2009. This kind of indicates that either the original script was either re-written or a new script was written. I hope that is correct.

According to what I read last night which was posted July 21, 2009, 'It isn't clear what the take of the new producers are but they will likely direguard the Justin Mark's script.' It said it differently but I had to say it differntly because what was said earlier would have made the statement make no sense at all.
