LOL Nicole! Actually I started making one of mine own. I plan to finish it tonight when I get online again. But that's awesome!!!  KBL, thank you for clarifying that. I lurk here sometimes, but Voltron was probably my favorite cartoon as a child. Last Friday I ordered The Fleet of Doom DVD from the site, and it arrived on Monday. Needless to say I watched it immediately. If the movie turns out anything like the current script review, I won't be seeing it. I have so many problems with changes to the characters, exclusion of characters (no Haggar? What?), and not setting the movie on Arus that I am actually angry about this film right now. This isn't how it should be. I could deal with some changes, but some things should not be changed. It should open the same way the show opens, with the Galaxy Alliance sending Keith, Lance, Hunk, Pidge, and Sven to find Voltron. Finding Arus and the castle, the Princess taking Sven's place, those things should remain intact, along with Zarkon, Haggar, Lotor, and their attack on the Voltron force. I had some hope that this movie could turn out good after I saw Transformers but everything I've heard or read about this movie is just bugging me. I'm also against turning Lance into a black dude and making Hunk an Arab, but that seems to happen a lot in movies based on other properties. | ||||

I agree with Hungrywolf that the movie should evolve out of nature from the story, except I think the plot should be as goes; Zarkon plans an attack on Planet Earth after many failed attempts on Arus. On Earth, everything in the movie should be as it normally goes here, then all of a sudden they are under attack by the forces of Planet Doom. They totally attempt to take over Planet Earth until the Voltron force hears about on Planet Arus. When they hear about Planet Earth being invaded by Zarkon, they have Voltron go to Planet Earth to fight his forces. There has been much talk about a possible script for the new Voltron live action film. I am a big fan of the original 80s show and have been discussing this concept with members of my Voltron group. Having heard such things as that the scenes will be set in New York and Mexico and that the main characters will not be based on the old cast but rather a completely new cast brings concern to us. We, as a group, feel that this is not right because this new concept is not what we grew up on. We also feel that if a movie is to be based on the original series that it should include the original storyline or a similar storyline. If we can spread the word to the producers or directors, it would be a great help. Or maybe there is a way we could contact Justin Marks or any of the producers or directors working on the film directly that would be very helpful as well. Sabrina | |||

It seems that the computer virus my nano-robeast uploaded into the Castle of Lion's mainframe is working like a charm. Already I am seeing the fruit of our labor! Zarkon: Excellent Haggar. Now if Lotor can keep his mind on the task of capturing the Castle instead of earning a kiss from Princess Allura, success is guaranteed. Lotor: Father, you can depend on me to carry out your orders. Planet Arus will be ours! Zarkon: Yes Lotor . . . that is until you see those dazzling blue eyes again. Try not to come home soiled this time . . . what is that Terran phrase again, old witch? Haggar: I believe the term is 'Sh*t the bed' Sire. I heard the Red Lion Knight use this phrase during our last confrontation with the robot lions. Zarkon: Whatever . . . As a result of reading many of these scripts about how whoever is making the Voltron movie, is totally going to make it warped just like all the other Voltron shows that came after the Original Series, I wish to form an Organization supposedly named after Princess P's pic called Save Our Voltron. I wish they would just keep it to the original series, because if they don't, I will be going to WEP or whoever to ring somebody's neck out. I'm new to this board but not to Voltron, It's one of the best amime of all time. I don't see the problem with changing the races of the VF as long as the actors are talented and fit the part. After all, Voltron is an anime and not real life. Real life white actors have been darkening their skin for years to play other races in films and there is never a problem so what's the problem now? Don't stoop so low. I think that as long as the nature of the movie stays in tact then it will be a hit. Based on this "mystery script" the nature of Voltron is no longer present and for that alone I'm greatly disapointed.     The right kind of criticism can be edifying. | |||

I've tried writing to WEP and to Tiffany @ the official site but haven't heard a response yet. I asked to see if someone at WEP or the official site can give some contact information to the writers of the movie so we can voice our opinions. If anyone on this board gets any contact information, please share so we can tell them our feelings and maybe get a movie that we all can not only enjoy but be proud of. Sabrina | |||
