I started this thread so we can have a central place to talk about when we see or hear something about Voltron in our real world. Any chance that one of the mods could place this as a sticky?

For example, on my way home tonight. I was scanning the radio when I stopped on a hip hop station. The reason why I stopped was because the dj was giving a charity announcement and for the background music he played the ending credit theme to Voltron. It was freaking sweet!

I went out with Nate, a guy that I work with on Thursday.While driving to the Zoo to see the Festival of Lights, we were talking about Myspace and Facebook. I mentioned I'm on a internet anime board, He asked me "What anime"? I said "Voltron". He says "Oh used to watch that with Thundercats over at my grandma's because she has cable." I said" Wow you don't see too many people who know about Voltron". I didn't really ask him anything else because I didn't want to scare him.

I was met with a few blank stares when I announced to people excitedly that Voltron had been re-released... until finally one friend just smiled and exclaimed, "And I'll form the head!!"
and I said "YES!!! Thank you!"

That's pretty damn cool.


I remember when I bought Madman's "Best Of Voltron" DVD the sales guy remembered the show and said it was an awesome cartoon series.


Also, a few years back a man from the housing commission came over to inspect the house and when he walked into my room he immediately recognised my Voltron stuff and said he remembered the show when he was younger.

Haha, funny thing is I've had my Matchbox Voltron III sitting on my work desk for the past year. We had some guys from Japan HQ come to visit, and one of them had seen my figure. He "bugs" my boss about where I got he figure, so my boss asks me "where did you get that?'

I told him that its 22 years old, and that they dont make it anymore, but reissues by Toynami were being made. I told him that I could contact my friend at Toynami to see if I could get it from them for him

that's just trippy. A guy from Japan asking me about my Voltron (to him Golion) figure.

I forgot to mention, in the ToyFare magazine with the Justin Marks interview, there is a list of the top 50 comic and fictional weapons of all time.

Voltron's Blazing Sword came in at #16.

Very funny stories....This past week we had our carpets cleaned and the guys who came to do it were in awe of my various toy focuses...Mostly they were clamoring about my Voltron MP in the display case surrounded by the Panosh Place pilots. The younger guy, (late 20's,) asked why it looked more ergonomic than what he remembered taking to show and tell in the 2nd grade. I advised him it was a newer one that had come out recently and told him to check out Toynami. We both agreed the MP looked more like Voltron in the show than the boxier ones in the 80's. Carpet cleaners = Voltron fans.

I've heard from some source that in the future & we never know, but we could get UFO's who come here & actually invade our planet. The creatures are supposed to be as tall as an 18 story building.

Hmm. Reminds me off robeasts. That means we beter manufacture a Voltron.

I honestly didn't believe the hoax, but I thought I'd bring the interesting rumor to everyone's attention, cuz I thought it was funny.

I was just watching a comedian on Comedy Central Presents and he was making jokes about Bob the Builder. He asked whatever happened to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, He-Man, Thundercats, Voltron....

...yes, he mentioned Voltron. Cool huh?

I was talking to some friends and they were checking out my MySpace page which has Voltron as the background, and my friend said one of the funniest Voltron quotes. Sorry if anyone gets offended by this, simple a quote:

Hmmmm.... Not sure if this counts here but I wasn't sure where else to post it (maybe the Everything Else section? hmmmm...) But... Did anyone else see that ep of "Everybody Hates Chris" last night? Here's a brief summary of what happened...

"Drew finds out that a Voltron toy Julius made him get rid of is worth $150. ... Drew and Julius go to the Salvation Army to try to buy back the Voltron. ... The Voltron is at a cleaning facility but will be placed in one of the stores soon. ... The Voltron resurfaces at Salvation Army for $2 but another kid already has it. Julius offers him $20 for it but the kid really wants it. Drew lets the kid have it. "
