considering the series originated in Japan where Bhuddism, Taoism and shinto are the major faiths, which have been referred to as "paganism" it's no wonder that these commentators mistakenly think Voltron and other Anime is witchcraft since these religions "differ" from mainstream Christianity beliefs.

That's all I have to say right now, but will comment more later.

In all honestly, the thing that struck me most was how terrible the audio quality was. It just sounded so muddled and wasn't even synced to the guys mouth movement. It's so bad I had a hell of a time trying to figure out what he was on about. I could gather that he was babbling some stuff about witchcraft, and that he didn't like the death in the Transformer clip shown--apparently, he missed what happened afterwares in that episode. If he wanted to complain about Transformers, he should've picked the movie, or at least the "Dark Awakening" episode.

I remember this! Someone posted that clip quite a few years back. It's great for a laugh.

If those two guys think Voltron is bad, I wonder what their reactions to Golion would be.


Also, if they had bothered to watch the rest of that Transformers episode they would have seen that Orion Pax didn't die and that he was rebuilt into Optimus Prime. They completely missed the theme of resurrection, heh heh heh heh.

Their kneejerk reaction to witchcraft is pretty stupid. Ok, fine; they don't like witches. But why get all hung up on aknowledging the existance of witchcraft. How do they expect children to prepare for things when they, apparently, suggest shielding the kids from anything that doesn't conform to their point of view.

I've never understood why the religious nuts have to pick on fictional properties.

Shows like Voltron and GoLion are meant to entertain. It's like those people that claimed Harry Potter promoted wizardry.

Forget Golion. What about the slew of anime out there with Christian overtones? Chrono Crusade, Trinity Blood. How many gun-toting nuns and gunslinging priests ARE there in anime, LOL? I wonder what these people think of these shows.

Buddhism, Shinto, Christianity have gotten the anime treatement. How about Islam or Judaism? Any poetic license seen in anime with these religions (I can't think of an anime action-packed rabbi off the top of my head; any takers?)
