Hey wanted to introduce everyone to the new voice cast of Voltron Force! A complete listing can be found at Imdb.com but wanted to give you an exclusive behind the cel look of why we chose some of these fantastic talents and what you can expect. As you can see from their experience you may already be familiar with some of their work in live action and in other animated series.

First off let me say as a proud member of Generation Voltron just how much I love the original cast. For many of us BJ Ward, Michael Bell, Neil Ross, Lennie Weinrib and others will always be the beloved friends from our childhood.

But just as Voltron Force is about a new generation rising I know you are going to fall in love with this new cast as I have and come to see them as a fresh new dimension on the same characters we now get to know even more! I've often compared it to the JJ Abram's Star Trek reboot and think that applies here as well.

What was amazing about this process is by accident or serendipity in many cases we cast voices that not only looked like our characters, but their personality traits truly embody them.

For instance, let's start with our new Commander Keith, Giles Panton. Believe me, this guy IS Commander Keith. Giles is earnest, sincere, dedicated and has a great natural voice that just resonates leadership and heroism. When he talks he sounds like a young Commander rising to the intense pressure of keeping a team together. That and if you just look at him you could see him playing Keith in a live action movie:



Next up is our new Princess Allura. Once we heard the mature yet rich voice in the audition we knew we had found our warrior Princess and couldnt belive it was coming out of this petite cute girl. Her voice has that fierce but feminine, regal yet warm quality and just sounds like our Princess grown up just a bit to inspire and lead her people and her planet:


BTW Ashleigh Ball is in a band called Hey Ocean that has a Facebook Page that you can drop her a line at and welcome her to the Voltron Force! Please respect her as the Princess she is now.

I'll do some more introductions later but wanted to properly introduce our new Force to you the true fans who have always believed in Voltron. I hope even the hardcore fans will give them a chance and I know you will fall in love with this exciting new cast just as we have! More introductions soon!

Will Ashleigh do any singing for the show?

IMBD lists "King Lotor". Is that correct?

I like how you forgot to say Ashleigh's last name in the post.

It looks like they got Joshua from the current ABC series "V" to do the voice for Lotor! I think I could hear his voice as Lotor, but not sure, his character in "V" in my opinion is more low key. So we'll see, but I think it may be a good fit. I'll have to watch another episode of V though.

EDIT: It seems there are a lot of V people in this list...

I noticed that Zarkon and Haggar aren't listed in the voice cast listing ...

I wonder what else was revealed at the SXSW party WEP had this weekend, I'm guessing at the least promo artwork of the actual show that we've been waiting for and at the most a short trailer of the new show. I'm guessing whatever was shown will be on the new site on tuesday, sucks we have to wait.

... nor Sven, Romelle, Bandor, Nanny, or Cossack. Also, Lotor is referred to as KING Lotor.

Looking forward to the new Voltron show. I understand if some changes have to be made since it is a newer series. Please respect the older Lion Force Voltron/Golion stories so when we see it, we won't end up saying that it has nothing to do with the old shows.

Gary Chalk's in the cast. WEP certainly likes it's Optimus'.

I guess it's time for a change. Still, any chance WEP will have the original cast members make cameos.

I was happy to hear the new Lance sounds like he could fit my own interpretation (Very important to me )

Just got back from SXSW but will do some more intros of the new cast soon!

Let the speculation begin indeed! Wanted to take a moment to finish introducing the new voices for the original Voltron Force here!

Let's start with Andrew Francis the new voice of Lance. As you can see from Imdb and like many of our cast Andrew is probably already familiar to animation fans as he has had roles on Hero 108, Johnny Test, Death Note, .hack, X-men Evolution, Gundam and more.



Andrew was another one who just nailed it and brought a new but familiar dimension to Lance in the cocky hotshot who isn't above questioning Keith's command. What's interesting in this series is how Lance will deal with the new cadets as he's never been one to shy away from vocalizing his opinion. That and let's just say Lance would never give up his seat in Red Lion to any noob... gotta watch to see how it plays out.

Next up let's do the duo of Hunk and Pidge. Starting with Ty Olsson as Hunk. Ty is an accomplished live action actor that has appeared in a ton of movies but also has earned his geek cred by playing Storm Shadow in GiJoe: Valor vs. Venom and appearing in X2, Chronicles of Riddick as well as too many cool TV shows to name here like V, Human Target, oh yeah and Battlestar Galactica!



As our Production Manager Heather stated during the audition TY IS HUNK and she wasn't far off. Ty brings the gruff but approachable aspect to the Yellow Lion pilot. We get to know Hunk and his history more than ever in this series and he has a special relationship with the new cadets. But of course, you can't have the Hunk without the-

Pidge! Sam Vincent is such a pro to work with and as you can see from his credits quite an experienced voice actor. Not only has he done a bunch of live action as well but his voice can be heard in Storm Hawks, Ed, Edd and Eddy, Fantastic four, Transformers Armada (we forgive you Sam), and even videogames like Dead Rising 2!



In addition to bringing that "nerd is the new cool" dimension to Pidge his take truly felt like a Pidge just grown up and experienced enough without losing his character. That and we could always go to Sam for a random voice and he would usually nail it in the first take!
