OK, I got a chance to play with the "Vytor": The Original Series DVD on a couple of DVD players (I will do more DVD players for Part 2, which is forthcoming).
I"m happy to say it was smooth sailing with 1) the Arcam DV78 and 2) the Rotel RDV-1040 DVD players (both British-made players). You still have to hit the chapter skip forward once between the commercial bumpers. Today's "guinea pig" for a TV was the really cool Pioneer Elite PRO-810HD 42" Plasma, and the video looked really good! It seems that Pioneer DVD players have problems with this disc...even my reference player, the Ayre Acoustics DX-7e (which does have a customized Pioneer transport) has problems such as picture freeze-ups ever so often. In Part 2, I will check out players from Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic, and maybe even video game systems like XBox, PS2 and maybe even the XBox 360.
