COUNTDOWN TO V-DAY

http://www.voltron.com

Hey everybody! Jeremy from WEP here.

A mysterious countdown has taken over Voltron.com!

What could this mean? A new site is on the way? Some news about DVD? A new series? Live action movie? Or is this just one of Haggar's tricks?..

Either way don't miss the action when the countdown hits zero!

Be there for V-DAY!

SABER RIDER CLARIFICATION

Many of you Saber Fans have emailed us about if the entire series would ever be coming out on DVD.

I can tell you with confidence that only this Best of Collection and -maybe- a Vol.2 will be released. WEP has no plans to release the entire series and most likely that will never happen.

Translation: "Best of" is better than nothing and you better get them before they are gone:

Okay, on the one hand the "mysterious news" sounds quite exciting.

On the other, the bombshell you just dropped regarding Saber Rider makes me SO SAD. There's really no way we'll be getting the rest of the series? Even with enough demand? (How much would constitute enough demand?) Heck, I'd be fine if you'd just put all the episodes on discs, no extras, on a pre-pay basis. My old VHS tapes will wear out soon and I never had the whole series taped to begin with, so I was REALLY looking forward to getting the rest of the series in some fashion or another! (The German DVDs don't count because I wanted the voices I grew up with. ) How much would it take to get a Volume 2, at least?

I have to agree!!!! How about the remaining 42 episodes on a pre-pay basis.
One suggestion I made was to come out with a Volume 2 with 21 episodes (across 4 discs) and then a Volume 3 with the final 21 episodes.
I would LOVE to have Saber Rider complete......I think it can and SHOULD be done!

Since we are doing the DVD production costs ourselves we would have to sell a couple thousand of the Best of so that my bosses would think it was worth it. Honestly the rights arent ours forever so I dont think it will happen.

The set would have top sell for close to $200 I would think...we'll see..in the meantime we might have some episodes for download though thru video.google.com...something we are looking into...

Question: how would the audio/video quality be with video.google.com?
I do have a Macintosh with SuperDrive (it's both a CD-burner and a DVD-burner).

To the Administrator:

What if I, and I alone, wanted to spend about $200 to get the remaining 42 eps of Saber Rider on DVDs directly from WEP?

I would totally pay $200 for the remaining 42 episodes.

Hmmm, Jodi, you and I are in the same boat here! But I doubt they'd release a set for just one or two people - there would have to be enough demand. However, I think $200 is a pretty reasonable price considering most anime series are released 4 episodes to a DVD at $29.99 a pop. We'd actually be getting the same for less than $20 for every 4 episodes. I was actually expecting to pay that much to begin with.

I know other people who would most likely be willing to pre-pay and do the same. Never underestimate the power of the children of the '80s! XDXD
