Hello,

I am new here, and I am re-living my childhood Big Grin

Anyway, as a kid, I had 2 Voltron sets, which never were complete. Now I am looking to finally complete them. I am not a collector, so I have questions, and would like some help.

My main goal here is to find loose lions for sale, that don't have to be perfect, but not too beat up, either.

Incomplete Voltron Set #1

This one is the Matchbox metal Voltron 3 lion set (deluxe, I think, and I beleive 12" tall~got Black, Blue and Red Lion in 1986 brand new). This set, I am missing Green Lion and Yellow lion. I am wondering if the Matchbox lions are compatible with other makes, such as Lionbots or Trendmasters. Also, what should I expect to pay for those lions in decent condition? Basically, I just want to complete the set and prefer matchbox, but if others fit, I would go with them, too.

Incomplete Voltron Set #2

THis set is the Panosh Place plastic set (the lions you can place figures in). For this set, I am looking for the Yellow and Blue lions. Not sure what loose lions in decent condition go for.

For both sets, I am also wondering what web pages can be recommended, besides Ebay. I prefer a site which I don't have to bid at, and is reputable.

If anyone here sells lions, I would like to hear from you, too!

Welcome to the board, and I'll try to help you as best as I can.

Question #1: Trendmasters might fit, but it would look all wrong. Lionbot is closer than Trendmasters.

Question #2:Regarding Panosh Place, just make sure the lions are complete when contemplating purchasing.

As far as someplace else other than eBay...very difficult. I am not sure of many other sites out there on the net that are reputable that you can still buy vintage Voltron merchandise from.

If someone else knows of a site, step up and let it rip! Smiler

Sorry, I don't have any extras of my sets, otherwise, I'd like to help. My professor found a full die cast Voltron III her son played with in her attic, but she says it is in heavily played with condition. I have not seen it, so I can't say how bad it is.

That is another road block you might encounter. More often than not, it's Voltron being sold, not so much as the separate lions. But, sometimes you get lucky. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the tips, K2. Smiler

Yeah, I have been searching on line, and whenever I think I find a web page that has voltron or lions, the listings are really just shortcut links to eBay. Seperate loose lions are hard to find, just as you have said.

unless someone here has spares to sell, your best bet really is ebay. if you don't like bidding, sometimes lions are up for buy it now. i got all my voltron toys, aside from what i had growing up, from ebay with no problems. Smiler

I don't mind the bidding, I mind the bid snipping. lol

Basically, if you're not familiar with the term, it's when you've placed a bid, and no one else does until literally the last minute, outbidding you, and leaving you with little to no time to place another bid in to secure it.

I didn't know term bid snipping, but I know exactly what you are talking about. That is why I don't like bidding.

Nice grab since you already have Black lion you don't have to worry about the loose wing issue! Enjoy it when it comes!
