So I got MP Voltron (as stated in my other thread), I opened him a few minutes ago, and I didn't even have the chance to break any of the legs. I removed the tape from the Black, Green, and Red lions back, lifted the plastic up, AND BLACK LIONS HEAD FELL DOWN!! His head broke off of that tiny ass ball jointed peg!! NOW WHAT??!!

Ah man, sorry to hear that! I don't know how or if that can be fixed. Well, I would try contacting Toynami's customer service. They're good about replacing defective items. I bought my Masterpeace off ebay and the black lion's right upper leg would not tuck in to the compartment for some reason; there was also a few chrome chips that were fairly large and noticable. I contacted Toynami's customer service directly and sent the whole thing back and got a brand new one that they tested before they sent to me. Good luck. BTW, that's a nice Voltron!

What is their number to call? I want to talk to a real person. Before I do so, I guess I should take a look at the other lions, just to make sure everything is okay so I can take care of any issues in one shot.

All I know, is that I will never buy another thing from Toynami again. I should have just listened to the guys in my other topic and avoided this thing. Of course, had I kept the thing unopened, I would never have known it was broken for like 5 years.

Was a few week turnaround time all together. That is a nice Voltron. It'll be worth looking in to getting it replaced. I like it because it looks like Voltron in the old cartoon when he is in battle mode/striking (looks more thin and agile). The Voltron III Matchbox looks more like Voltron in the old cartoon when he is just transformed and they show him standing straight in the air or on the ground (more bulky). Take a look at the picture under my username - it's Voltron with Sword from the old cartoon and resembles the Masterpeace Voltron.

A few weeks? Am I going to have to send the whole thing in, pay MORE shipping, and then hope I get a replacement that is not broken?

They sent me a UPS call tag and UPS came and picked it up free of charge. So I paid nothing at all to get my replacement. They also tested/transformed it before they sent it to me to ensure everything worked 100%. I was completely satisfied with their service.

I would have been absolutely peeved if my Toynami set had been broken like that when I took the Lions out of the plastic casing.

I've emailed them and the ebay seller, but have gotten no response so far.

I did decide to open the rest of the lions, and I unscrewed their legs a bit before even attempting to move them, thus, nothing broke. I did put him in Voltron form for a few minutes, just to see what it at least looks like, and this is probably the best build it Voltron figure ever, but it is far from the best Voltron ever made (my Voltron binocular figure is still the best due to it being just one piece). I just do not know why, but NO ONE has ever been able to create a Voltron without making the legs weigh a ton, thus bringing the figure as a whole down in terms of greatness. The old die-cast Voltron from the 80s (and TM version) couldn't even be lifted an inch off the ground without the legs falling off. The 20 inch one from TM had locking issues with the legs, which once again would cause them to fall off after lifting him for a few inches. Here though, the locks actually seem to work, but his legs just can't be posed for anything. Oh, and red lion's legs seem to stop the peg from locking into the arm joint properly. Other than that, if Toynami gets me a new head/lion/whatever, I'll be perfectly happy even though I feel this Voltron is not worth $100, more like $50.

The old die casts (Matchbox) legs don't stay on??? Wow, I've never heard of that one.

Blue Lion on the MPC takes some working to get it to stay, and I've never had that issue with my original.

Maybe the connector was bad for the original you were forming, who knows.

Question...was the set already opened when you got it? If so, then the seller knew about the Black lion head issue. I'd raise some noise. If not, then the seller knew nothing, and nothing you can really do ebay wise. It's all on Toynami now.

As for it being opened, not, it looks like it was completely brand new. The first sign of something being wrong though was that when I opened the plastic cover, a small black coin-looking thing fell into my lap. I have no idea where it is from, but then I grabbed black lion, and his head fell off.

Anyway, I'm on my way to the post office.

It's easy for a seller to open the toy and re-seal it.

I sent it the cheapest way since I wasn't in a rush but you might want to send it Priority if you want it fast (better do it now since postage will raise in early May for stamps). As for the receipt, I think a print out of that Ebay payment page will do.

Sounds to me like you were taken for a ride, Gankutsuou. I've had some good and bad luck with sellers on Ebay for different Star Trek stuff I've purchsed previously for Rich. And DMD's right, its actually quite easy from someone to package it all up again to appear as of it were never opened.

My MPC Voltron is in perfect health. But I do know that not everyone had the same kind of blessing as I've had.

either way, in general toynami sucks, they have good customer service and good replacement parts service, hope it all works out.
