Keeper of the crystal Orb

Hey all, I got my item in the mail, and of course, the blue robot's tab mechanism that keeps the legs in place is in a bunch of pieces. Ah, the jigsaw puzzle.

It forms into Gladiator just fine, but when the upper torsos are connected...do they actually connect anywhere? Because my set just slips on, and off easily. The other Voltron toys at least clicked into a position to stay together when formed.

I'd appreciate some feedback on this. Smiler

I've been trying to find you an instruction sheet but I only found the Blue Robot instructions after searching through my boxes of stuff.

I'll scan it Monday when I could get to my scanner.

Thanks Mark, but no need now. After looking at it, and gently working things, I figured it out.

That, and even after all that...upon doing a massive update to my site...I find in my files on my comp instructions for GV. Granted they are in Japanese, but hey, pictures are worth a thousand words. lol

I'm just curious about the fact the upper torsos didn't latch together or anything. If that is how it's supposed to be, no wonder kids didn't like it! lol

Hmm... funny, I had the toys as a kid, and they latched together just fine. Basically, you pull the shoulders apart, attach it to the head of the next lowest torso, and close the shoulders back together.

Okay, so let me get this straight. The arms when taken from the normal position to swing backwards needs to not be swung ALL the way back until you have the lower torso put in place?

The Japanese one is better. At least the robots can shoot their hands. It's easier to hide the other four arms once when the hands are off.

I uploaded a scan of the Blue Robot's instructions (in case anyone wants to print out their own on an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper). I use to download Transformers Tech Spec images and print them on cardboard for those loose Transformers that I get from friends/trade that I don't have Tech Specs for.

Thanks Mark! Even though I was able to figure it out, it can always come in handy!

Now, another question. If I was to try to find the Japanese version (the better one) what terms should I be searching for on ebay? Also, the Japanese version, is the blue robot as notorious for breaking as the Matchbox version, or is it better? Lastly, does it come with a sword unlike the Matchbox version?

That Blue Robot plastic is CHEAP! Unfortunately, I think that blue glitter plastic material is always like that. For example, I bought a Popy Grendizer UFO toy (the one that shoots out the figure) back in the 80's and the left wing broke!

Yes, the Albegas Robots come with one sword each. On a lucky week on Ebay, you can search for "Albegas", "Albega*", "Arbeg*", and "Arubeg*" and find some merchandise. Sometimes, "Shogun" or "Godaikin" works in the the search.

My only regret on Ebay was that there was a Godaikin Albegas for sale (at $29.99 plus $6 shipping) last year and I forgot to bid! It didn't sell but the seller didn't relist!

If you search Ebay right now, there's a few Albegas toys from one seller that I haven't seen before. They are the Blue and Red Robots in 3" form and I think they're motorized. The problem is, there's no Black Robot to complete the set. It looks like they can form Albegas.

I already have the ST figure as well as the slightly smaller 4" figure but I don't know if I'm going to get those two robots that the seller has on auction (because then I'll be trying to find the Black Robot).

Yeah I see the auction(s). Wonder if the seller has the black one and just hasn't listed it yet?

Well, it really depends. You can make him pretty tall if you do things differently than intended. I don't want to take mine out and mess around with it anymore than I absolutely have to, so maybe someone else can.

Oh, and best of luck on getting one. It took me quite a while to get one as well, and also thought you might want to know this: The Deluxe box for the Voltron II is smaller than the Deluxe boxes for I & III.

If you transform him into exactly what you see on the box, the toy is a little under 9 1/2 inches!

I wish someone would make a bigger one with a better Blue Robot.
