So I was looking through the new Previews magazine the other day and noticed that they have the Masterpiece Voltron in there... for $59.99. WTF?? I paid over a hundred for that thing last year, and now it is half the price, AND has a superior looking box. That is messed up. Is there any difference between the two? I may order it and display the one I currently own loose.

The only reason MGS4 would appear on the X-Box 360 is if Kojima wanted to paint the sky red.

You seem rather surprised by this. The MP Voltron is a year old so eventually the price would drop.

The $59.99 price tag is for the up-coming PLASTIC version of the Masterpiece set.

Uh, what was he made of before? Or do you mean he is now made up of an even cheaper plastic.

The Masterpiece Voltron is made of gum. Really.

I blew a HUGE bubble with Green Lion, but now the value of my Voltron has gone down a notch. Wink

SGB is right....while the previous Masterpiece Voltron had SOME plastic involved, it was made of mostly metal.(save the lion jaws, connection pieces and some detail parts...)..this newer version is done entirely in plastic..AND the previous one was numbered and limited...this new one may not be? I have the first version and am quite happy with it as a collectible. I think its pretty definitive!

So this one would be the better one to display opened? Let's hope none of the lions break before you even open them.

not sure...nothing broke on mine when I opened it....I did hear about others having trouble though, but it sounded like Toynami replaced faulted parts to those buyers...I think the newer plastic one would look chincier...IMO.

One would hope that the plastic one would be at least sturdy enough to have for parents to buy for kids to play with today. Yes, plastic for 60 bucks sucks, however, in today's market it equals out to be what Panosh equaled back in the day.

To be quite honest, and nothing against you personally, but I hate hate hate it when people say, "Well in today's market blah blah blah.) I'm sorry, but there is no reason for the basic sized Transformers to be $8 when 8 years ago they were $5, GI Joes were $4 and now they are $7. Same goes for video game systems. People are like, "Well by today's money value you would have spent $600 on the PS1, so the PS3 whatever." Sorry, I'm just saying I am sick of people using that as if it okay for something to cost as much as it does.

Not saying it's okay, and I'm not taking it as an attack, so no worries.

But, look back to how much the dollar was worth back then compared to now. It sucks now, but also, the other thing is companies are greedier.

Why would any company keep prices level? They all want to jack it up so they get the most profit! I know, us customers take it in the end, and it does suck.

I'd rather pay for the darned thing and be a little peeved than later on ebaying it paying more because you can't buy it anymore.

One of the key ingredients used in the production of plastic is oil.

And we all know theres plenty of that sitting around, right?? lol lol

50-60 bucks for a plastic master*cough*piece sounds a bit steep. But if the toy had been much sturdier, I wouldnt have anything to say.

The fact of the matter is, you can't have fun with it taking it apart and posing it every so often because the damned thing gets loose and wiggly, fast.
For some reason though, I would have rather spent 50 on a plastic than 120 on a metal one that gave me a hard time until I finally sold it. With a broken but repaired waist. :/

Still, Id like to see more pics of this and not recycled metal mp voltron images.
