The folks at Harmony Gold are selling a soundtrack CD set of all the music from the entire Robotech series. Are there plans for World Events Productions to do something similar with the music from Voltron? If not, then why not? Do the original music-only tracks no longer exist? Are there unsurmountable legal hurdles? Would the cost of printing the CDs be too high for what might be limited sales?

I'd love to see a Voltron soundtrack too.

I'm not very confident that it'll happen though as the music soundtrack masters don't appear to exist anymore or have been lost in the midst of time.

John Petersen, the guy who did Voltron's music, doesn't have any masters of the music either.

The old Voltron website, for awhile had downloadable tracks from Voltron the 3rd Dimension - some tracks are neat, some are hokey. I expect whenever the movie does come out, it'll probably have a mix of rap, electronica, dance, and techno. (Remember the 'Lost in Space' movie some years back?)

I remember the time the tracks were available for download. I have the MP3s on CD somewhere.

I didn't care for V3D's soundtrack overall, but I did like the Castle of Lions theme.

I wonder how much of the soundtrack could be cobbled together by sampling each track from various episodes in which it's featured, and stitching it together from the pieces across episodes which aren't mixed with sound effects or dialogue.

Of course, this task wouldn't be very cost-effective.

There weren't much to the soundtracks. They were mostly 20 sec snippets of music made and then repeated over and over during the shows.

I don't think that a repetative music track would sell well.

Here's a couple of my favourite pieces of Voltron music that I'd like to see on a soundtrack release ...

My favourite music cue from the show:

This music can be heard in various other episodes, such as the very start of "Pidge's Home Planet" and the end of "The Green Medusa".

Another one of my favourite bits of music is the gentle guitar-like strumming music that's heard in a few episodes:

This music isn't heard in many episodes as far as I can remember, but it is nicely used in "Zarkon Is Dying" and "Great Stone Space Faces", which is where the two above clips come from.

And lastly, one more piece of music that I'd like to see on a soundtrack release:

This one comes from "Raid On Galaxy Garrison". The music is also heard early on in "The Centipede Express" and during the scene in "The Deadly Flowers" when Lance finds the honey-like stuff.
