Despite the wrong robeast to be featured on them, Im seriously impressed with the quality of these bookstands, made and released by Toynami. Picked this up at the recent Comic-Con convention in San Diego

Have a gander:

Oh and they are numbered; ONLY 1000 will be available WORLDWIDE :

By the way, this set WEIGHS alot. Its made of porcelain, stands about 12" tall, and its VERY VERY heavy. When I walked around the Convention, people were looking at me, liek "WHOA she bought that VOLTRON thing?" cause the box is huge.

I nearly hit three people because the thing is so big.

Oh boy, that's gonna cost me a fortune in shipping costs.

The stand looks great though.

yeah its unfortunate that you'll have to pay because of the weight. Its roughly 10lbs. take what you will on that.

the preliminary pictures of these bookstands really do not do the item justice. Its absolutely exquisite in the painting and the sculpting of the item. The box contains information on the the release amount and who sculpted it.

My friend at Toynami begged me to pick up his One Piece bookstands.....haha. I dont like that series. I think I'll bug him to see if I can get the sculptor who sculpted the bookstands to autograph them...^_^

It's certainly put the kibosh on my plans to purchase two of the stands.

Heck it's done that to me and I'm in the states! lol But for the fact it's not a toy item, I can deal with one instead of two

They look great. Thanks for posting the pic.

Has anyone else noticed that when ever Voltron is put onto an item, whether it be a t-shirt, bookends, etc that Voltron is always drawn (or sculpted) more like the toy version and not the show version?

If you don't know what I'm talking about then take another look at the bookend. You'll notice that on the arms and legs you can see where the lions' legs are folded up. In the show, once the legs fold up they disappear.

You can see where the legs are folded up in this pic too.

I just thought that was interesting.

BTw, forgot to mention, the Voltron and Robeast are removable (they have metal pegs on the bottom, to stick them into the base). Its for easy packing, and less damage to the delicate parts.

I have no problems with your Mary-Sue if cannon supports it.

The cannon supports about 180 pounds if fired correctly.

I have so many books the bookends would take up too much shelf space...

Still, not bad.. removable huh? Might have to take off the robeast and put something else on there.... twisted
