I think the red on the nose makes the Lion look more symmetrical and just looks cooler that way.

I would prefer just having Keith and the lion on the inserts. As I recall, the only duo so far has been Allura and Sven, since the both piloted the blue lion. No need to break the tradition by adding more characters to Keith's box. Besides, Allura has already been on an insert, she doesn't deserve to go on another.
However, if there was a duo shot for Keith, the other character should be Lotor. Their rivalry would justify having him on the insert.
