Glad to know that I was able to maintain my expectations. This was honestly one of the tougher chapters for me to write. I had to think very technically, especially in every scene with the squad. I had to ask myself many, many questions such as "Are they holding their blasters? Why would they? When did they put them away? How do they infiltrate the prison without being seen? Etc..." This list of questions seemed endless so as not to leave any gaps in their rescue. And, again, if it wasn't for my husband's EMT experience, I doubt I would have made the transport of our injured hero sound so smooth and probable. Lastly, I continue to give all the credit to Shadow Squad's existence to Karen Traviss and her Republic Commando stories. She's an awesome writer, and I love reading her work.

Thanks again for the encouragement!! Hope to get started on Chapter 22 soon.

i on the other hand got a severe case of writers block.

I definitely recommend anybody writing Voltron fanfics to watch each & every episode on the DVD's, because I messed up my first fanfic I wrote all because I forgot what really went on in each episode. I couldn't believe that I had forgotten that Romelle was captive on Planet Doom for all of that time. There were also episodes I didn't get to see at the time the series was airing.

I don't have the DVD's but was watching the episodes on YouTube. I watched each & every one of them too. The worst thing as that Inuyasha had taken much of the episodes off & I now can't rewatch one when I need to. I need to watch all of the Vehicle Episodes, because I'm almost done with the Princess Iris fanfic that I'm working on.

i got mine from this very web site at the voltron store.just ordered fleet of doom and i'll be doing a fanfic based on that.still stuck w/ writers block.hope it passes so i can continue with WHERE I REALLY WANT TO BE.so say a prayer that it goes away soon.

In reading this I realised I hadn't announced the Ghosts delay on this forum. Oops!

so here goes!
For any Ghosts fans who don't know already, deepest apologies because there will be a delay of a few months.
I'm working on a novel at the moment and I got the chance to get some mentoring from a local author and due to her schedule and mine, I'm going to focus on that right now.
But......
This is definitely just a delay and Ghosts will not just drift off into the ether an unfinished work! I've got lots of material gathering in my head, so there will be plenty of action when Ghosts returns.... in fact, even today, I completely zoned out in the middle of a meeting because I had a Ghosts scene running through my head (oooh its going to be interesting ... tease tease).

Update on the novel... argh, it's harder than I thought, but a lot more interesting than I thought. I'm trying to stick to a pretty big word count each week, while working and chasing a toddler, and dealing with (or not dealing with, as the case may be) some really really hideous family issues (groan). I sort of keep waiting for the day I'll crack... but it hasn't come yet so I'll keep going! (insert nervous laugher here).
So far I've been meeting the word count but the plot is moving more slowly than I liked. ... as anyone who has read Ghosts can tell you, I sure can crap on and on and on. Lets face it, Ghosts started out as a short story of a couple chapters if that's any indication... and its no where near done!

Anywho, I'm enjoying the story but I'm hoping to get back to Ghosts before the end of the year. In theory I will (hopefully) have a first draft of the novel completed by then.
Watch this space for my gradual disillusionment.


I mentioned the following on KAEX and want to say it here too: if it hadn't been for the encouragement and wonderful feedback that I've gotten from the Ghosts fans I probably wouldn't have had the guts to attempt this! So thanks!

Arainia, thanks for the compliments on my writing! I hope to write something longer in the future, but it's difficult for me to come up with storylines. I'm learning to get inspiration in everyday life to apply to stories though
