Even though, there's already been a similar poll to this, I decided that I would still speak my piece, except I wish to also add something about Keith.
Out of all characters on the Voltron series, Lotor & Keith both have qualities that are very admirable & appealing.
They both have a great sense of leadership & high intelligence. Like others have mentioned, Lotor is self-determined & doesn't give up at everything. Keith is a brave man with keen instincts.
Both characters made the series interesting to watch.
Without Keith and Lotor, Voltron would be like Star Wars without Vader and Luke. Or Indiana Jones without Indy and the Nazis. Or Superman without Supes and Luthor. Or Family Guy without Brian and Stewie (Stewie for Emperor!)
Keith and Lotor added the much needed arch-nemesis scenario that frequents hero shows, movies, and comics. They provide one of the main sources of conflict and they are both characters that viewers can relate to.

As silly as this may sound, I wish there could be guys like Lotor & Keith in real life.
Also, even though they were worst enemies on the show, I wish they could've ended up being friends. Why? They would've made a great team. At least somewhere in the middle of my fanfic, they do make peace & team up against Zarkon.
There's this Lotor & Keith website entitled, A Prince & A Gentlemen which has all these stories about the duo being little boys. It was so cute
I think these two are better left to the anime. The real world doesn't need a sexually repressed control freak like Keith or another physically abusive drunk like Lotor. I like them in all their cartoon glory.
I definitely had Keith's influence & mental skill last nite when I was up on the 16th floor of an apartment high-rise & encountered a tornado in the horizon.
I had eyed it to see what it could possibly do & directed the residents to the elevators & down to the ground floor.
