After everybody on here getting sick of me going on & on about Lottie boy, I've came up with the idea of doing a Lotor website.

I have'nt started on it yet, but it's pretty much in the works.

The new Lotor site will definitely be the best Lotor site ever done, cuz I intend to make it look similar to Cheezey's Cossack Website.

I don't bite off of other people's work, because that's not being true to the game, but it helps to bounce ideas. Ever since I've been back into the World Of Voltron, I've been a frequent guest on "Cossack's Terrible Tour Of Doom."

Cheezey's website in my opinion has been one of the top Voltron sites I've been on. There's a lot to do on there & she does a great job keeping it updated.

One thing I noticed about Cheezey's site is she speaks from the mind of Cossack. Well, I intend on my site being the same way; speaking from the mind of Lotor.

If Cossack has a website, so should his friend Lotor.

Right now, I'm in the process of designing the website meaning deciding what I want on the website & learning how to build websites.

This thread is merely a place for peoples to come discuss their thoughts about a Lotor website.

Mine is pretty much more of a Tributal website to my Favorite Animated character.

Well, I've gotten started with getting in the process of registering a domain name, getting a host, & all that good stuff.

Cheezey recommended me to go with GoDaddy, so I'm going with her suggestion. The only thing is that I need to go give Mr. Plastic some dough.

Creation of my Lotor website will be pushed back for a minute, since I've just found out that it will cost me $200 to do my website. I'm pretty disappointed about it, but plan to still do the website. It will cost me money, but at least it will be tight like Cheezey's site.

Cossack has a website & so should Lotor.

It's gonna take some time to get it going, but I'll be using the time to design the website, plus work on "Reincarnation," album.

Pleaz pray for my website, cuz I've been excited about it. I'll keep everyone posted.

Are you sure it's $200/yr.? Maybe they defaulted the selections to 2 years or something like that and that's why you are seeing that price. I've seen packages anywhere from 50-100/yr.

I read u'r reply on Pursia's board the other day. GoDaddy is where I went, but I think it's so expensive for me, because I have a Website Builder included in my order, which runs $140. I'm proficient at navigating myself & doing regular stuff on a PC, but when it comes to big stuff like creating websites, I'll need all the learning I can get.

People can probably tell me how to create a website for nothing, but I have a comprehension problem, so it's easier for me to learn if I'm being shown how to do it with the hands-on step-by-step method.

Honestly, a Website Builder is not needed for a small fansite. If you were creating a massive site with hundreds of pages and using it commercially, then I could justify the price. I find that WYSIWYG editors tend to be code-heavy in my experience: I once turned a 25KB page generated by one to under 5KB and it looked exactly the same, so I tend to be a bit Amish when it comes to HTML.

I can understand the need for a hands-on approach (probably why I'm a lab rat, lol). I found this site that does feature small text-areas you can test the tags as it teaches you. Even mentions stuff about domains, but you can scroll down to chapter 1:

If you have a library handy, they sometimes let you borrow a reference book about HTML that features a CD/DVD that you can use on your computer.

A simple HTML page can be made right in Notepad (just when you save, select ALL files for the suffix and name the file name.html --You can then click on the file and it will open in your default browser). You don't have to upload the file if you want to test the basics. Actually, I recommend always testing your pages on your computer before ever uploading them. Make a small change to the file, save it in Notepad, refresh the open browser window, instant gratification.

In this day and age, personal sites and fan sites are becoming rarer and rarer. The absolute control over your site design is fun, and the vast Internet always has stuff you can try out to make your site individual.

So give the above site a try; you can try Googling other tutorials and just type the examples on your own PC as you go along and see what happens; that's what I did, I made it interactive. That's the only way to learn computer coding IMHO. Gotta start that long road towards carpal tunnel syndrome
