I've always figured Merla was bi, in all honesty. She flirted with both men (Zarkon, Lotor) and women (Allura, subtexty for sure, but yeah, it's there). |

Cheezey, I have to agree with you there. |

| I was just recently thinking about Merla and Keith or rather Doomites/Drules women and human men. I can't help but think that the female Drules would find human men fascinating for being completely different from Drule men. Especially considering we see so few Dommite/Drule females. Hagar and Merla are exceptions and I never got to see much VV so I don't know much about Dorma and Twila, but I'm curious now. I so want Merla and Dorma/Twila to be friends.
Human men would talk about compassion, freedom, equality, justice, etc while Drule/Doomies men would be all about conquest, destruction, carnage, domination, etc. That's a HUGE cultural difference it can't help but be fascinating. There has to be some reason why the Drules keep women away from the men.
And I can't help but think that the Doomies females might not have liked the fact that Zarkon wanted to put a pretty blond princess (of whatever planet we assume Lotor's mother to be from) on the throne. It might not go over well for Lotor to try the same thing with Allura. Afterall on their planet humans are slaves, or entertainment used to fight in the gladiator arenas.
I don't know if I'd really want to see Keith/Merla, but if they could be the crazy funhouse opposite mirror of Lotor/Allura I'm all for it. Keith could use compassion and kindness to win Merla over to the side of good. Hazar and Dorma could help that along. He could show her that there's another way of life besides violence and cruelty. |
